Pros and cons of a full mortise tang knife
Gorgeous SOG Design, very well defined lines. 😊
Very good heat treatment knowledge 😊
Are you selling these pieces , they are both fantastic looking Bowie Knives and remind me of Randell Made Museum Bowie Knives. Serious Skills in knife making.😊
The wood on the front of that drawer is oak, but the other wood looks very much like poplar and that was a very common practice as the polar saved money in the production of those desks!
I'm a knifemaker blacksmith in Texas, i really like your designs and workmanship ,good job brother, ps love the first one
Oh yes No one realizes how much work goes in to making a knife. 😮
FANTASTIC WORK!
Great Bideo Ed
That 2nd one is a BEAUTY!!! That should have been the knife that Crocodile Dundee was carrying in the film, "That's not a knife" !!!!
Beautiful
Sure like have 5 inch model,,,nice knife
Very nice!👍🐴⚒️
Your work appears impeccable, very well done sir.
Awesome knife
Tried to write you. Would you make me a saw back knife? Love your work
Sorry Freddy ... I don't take orders anymore. I just put knives on the website: www.martinknives.com
Ok, I'm convinced. I added 80CrV2 to my list of steels should I ever be attacked by a horde of steel barrels. ;-)
Do you still make this model? Thanks
Yes ... When I put some up for sale you will find them on www.martinknives.com ... You can sign up on my email list there to get notified when I add new knives to the website. Also, I have a facebook group ... martin knives survival tools and skills ... where guys can trade / buy my knives and I also post there.
Lots of great ideas, thanks👍
Very beautiful work. Knives of that time were typically less heavy-duty than these. They seem to have favored thinner stock. This was before men used knives for axe work.
nicely done. where do you get your screw hardware?
boltdepot.com
Absolutely beautiful work. Well done sir!
Dude your knives are amazing! I love your Macvsog recons!! I hope to purchase one soon. I also dig your pilot knives and any of your hollow handles!
Beautifully recreated heritage knives and a great presentation. Much appreciated. Thanks.
Would this be a model you would make and sale. Very awesome craftsmanship
I do make a few. I don't take orders anymore, but I do put one on the website once in a while ... www.martinknives.com ... You can sign up for the email list there also and get an email when I put something on the site for sale. I also have a facebook group where guys buy and sell and trade my knives ... An Old Hickory on steroids!!! I like it, I may need one in my collection!!
I love it ! I would buy it in stainless 3/16 ????
Awesome! Something like that would be a massive win in production!
👍🐴🔪
Make more of these please!
Your prices are very fair Ed. Thanks for the interesting explanations!
Very nice Ed.
Wow thats nice Ed
I just bought the second one you showed. This is my second knife from you shop. Keep up the great work!
Ed, HOME RUN!
Good looking knives!
Hi Ed, I am fascinated with your knives. They are extraordinary pieces of functional art, for sure. Your older SOG recon knives are my favorites! Thanks for your time and work!!
Mr. Martin, your knives and sheaths are top tier and it’s my opinion you should add an additional two or three hundred to each of your knives. They will still sell just try and see.
Would be nice to see a Fire Dog with a pommel crusher similar to an Esee 5, any plans Ed, or could you custom make one?
Sorry BIFFA1871, but I do not do custom work anymore.
@@edmartin13 no probs 👍
I have 4 Ed Martin knives including one of the latest runs of the MCE2. Ed you’re one of the best in the business and reputable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skill again. We trust you!
Thanks Josh ... Glad they are serving you well!
Bought one of the early Randall model #14 when he was offering a special price to the military.Soon after I went with my unit to vietnam, the knife got a lot of use in the jungle and held up well, but it was mild steel and was difficult to keep from rusting.I passed it on to a replacement when I left, often wondered where that knife ended up.
Ed is a master at his craft. I have one of his knives and I was also lucky to be able to get one of his son's knives Newt who sadly passed away. Newt was also a master of his craft.
My Ed Martin knife is beast of a tool. Also one of the nicest sheaths made. IMO owning one of these is priceless.
Thanks yatzi
Hi Ed, Just a note to say G'day and thank you for a very well made knife Mark Dombrowski
Hey Mark ... Glad it is serving you well.
Great video and thank you for the amazing knives that you make. These are heirloom knives, even with hard use!
Thanks
I own a few Martin knives - they are worth every cent being asked. Lifetime tools.
Thanks Kyle
there is no point in keeping fixed blade knife if it doest have a full tang. some famous knives are real disapointment starting from extreme ratio class to gerber class incl hollow cut outs for stupid reason of reducing weight yes i m talking about kabar becker version 2.
Awesome design looks like you thought of everything . Great job!!
Awesome as always Ed. 🤩😍
Good lookin knives
Thanks for sharing Ed. Looks really good and functional :)
Very good knife❤
