There really is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Beware. Being compassionate towards others and nature means respecting and preserving the environment for ourselves and future generations. Make sure you are also adding video tags, not just channel tags. Your videos are awesome and deserve hella views. Welcome to Washington, I love it here✨✨✨
Hey thanks so much! I dont know what video tags are lol. Does that help?
Great video! It looks beautiful there! As an Iowan, I can't wait to see your journey to get to Iowa City. Lots of adventures ahead!
Awww, thanks Steve! Where in Iowa are you from ?
@@zakandfal We are in the Greater Des Moines Metro so a little ways from Iowa City but have been there a few times and it is a great place also
I would say, time to part ways. You risk having resentment towards the other person if you have to change what you want to do with your life. Compatibility is no longer there, unless she will become a traveling nurse or something one day.
do you need to heat shrink around each connectors?? or just crimp? Thanks
Lol 😂
I know what I'm about to say is obvious but sometimes hearing it from another source is helpful. I'm 65 years old, a high school public school teacher of English, single (never married though have a had significant relationships over the years) and enjoy short backpacking trips, weekly hikes, etc., without which I could never survive teaching. Becoming a physician can only be done by attending a School of Medicine and once completed, the new physician can work in a variety of environments such as ER doc by contract 6 months, etc. Traveling from place to place eliminates becoming a physician. This means a four to 6ish years living a stationary life except for short get-aways. Doing work while one person in a partnership is in school (even though you have done sales work before) is, in terms of a lifespan, a short-term commitment. Just because you have done sales before does not mean you must continue doing that while your partner is in Medical School. I did one thing for a living for 16 years, went back to school to earn a teaching credential and have been a teacher for 25 years. I choose NOT to be a teacher when I wasn't and chose to be a teacher when I committed to the financial and time and energy commitment to achieve that goal. This choice and commitment did not result in emotional or love loss, but instead love gain. This change for both of you is an act of love and fear in a change...stepping into the unknown. Take the plunge...you can always rethink and re-choose. Always choose people/person over all else. But in the end as you reflect back on your life consider what do you value the most. Therein lies your treasure.
Thank you for the heartfelt and thoughtful advice @christinaelliot - it is helpful hearing it from another source. You are right, a job is a short-term commitment, and ultimately I should chase what lights me up. - even if that means monetary sacrifices in the short term. Trying to figure out how to bridge that gap now. Lastly, I Completely agree with your final sentiment: take the plunge… choose people first. Truth is, without Fal, there would go most of the adventure anyways. Being able to share these moments make them all the sweeter. Thanks for your words, and I hope to continue to think on how to incorporate more adventure in our lives while chosing love first
Stay strong brother may god bless you
Thank you @yuviftw! This was a challenging time for the both of us.
If you don't know what you're doing...you don't need to make how to video..we don't need to know how to screw up..we know that already.🙄
Part of our documenting in the beginning was showing the whole process-- but learned that that's not what everyone is looking for!
That isn’t done by fellow campers….. that is illegal dumping, done by non-contributing zeros!
Omg ..... Gloves!!!!!!!
I just cleaned mine. Pushed the white button but the center black seal leaked and spilled all over my hand. Ugh
WOOF! Sorry to hear that!!!
Gotta dispose of the dookie!
My advise is to get a Trelino toilet and quit carrying all the lbs of water.
Never heard of one! Truthfully though, we almost never use the toilet-- we try to use public restrooms whenever possible!
Years ago the walk line was miles long, but we were able to rent a bike and use the bike lane which had no line. Then when you get to the US side you drop the bike off at the rental return.
that's honestly so cool! yeh, there was maybe one other person who walked across. Very empty!
Looks pretty sweet
I lead a sheltered life so I have no idea what global entry is or what is going on?
Global entry is sort of like the "TSA PRE check" of crossing the border it seems. Honestly, Zak had gotten a little by accident a few years ago because a credit card he had covered the cost. This is probably the only time he has used it! lol
Subarus and big big-tree people do not mix!
As a Canadian, I would go to either country - neither is safe.
That actually was the best scenario, having her hop out. The general lane would have taken 90 mins plus if your were able to get the vehicle through.
Totally agree! Grateful this was the outcome. Could have been muchhh worse!
Omg!! Thankful for the good outcome!!
Us too! :)
Get global Fal lol. It literally takes a minute to get. Walking was a good lesson.
Global is clutch, that's for sure.
Years ago we would go to Mexico often, that is no longer advisable. Mexico can be a nice experience until it's not and then it can be a horror.
Truthfully, we had an amazing time, and would recommend it still! This was just something we wanted to educate people on what now to do when they pass the border. So cool that you got to experience Baja for yourself, before anyone knew about it!
Who told you to get out?🤨
The officer told Fal to get out
Having never crossed the southern border in my life, all this is Greek to me. Sentry, Global Entry, etc. ... yeah I have no idea LOL. Looks like madness to me. No wonder our border is like a sieve. Anyhoo, nice video, new sub from Kentucky here! Travel safely guys!
HA! Yeah it was a bit of a fiasco, to say the least, and one we wanted to inform other on! Thanks for the comment & following along @cenewton3221
@@zakandfal uhhh I’m white as fuq from NJ but been in San Diego 30yrs, I had a surfer shack with friends for yrs down there at one point and been going baja for 30yrs surfing. Literally easy 1000 trips in 30yrs is not an exaggeration probably underestimate and I have to say that you guys exaggerate and also straight lie in this video. There are many sections to get in the regular line, the medical pass line, or the Sentri line. For you to say that the turn was too sharp or something for your large vehicle is not only a lie because you could’ve used a different route to get into the regular Layne but you are also exaggerating because you should know how to drive your vehicle. I hate videos like this, you were the type of people that say that you went to jail for 10 years speeding ticket or something like that but you neglect to leave out that you’re severely incompetent unaware and culturally unaware of your surroundings. Yes, with over 1000 trips of course I’ve had my bribes and I’ve even been to Rosarito jail once but that still doesn’t mean that Mexicans are not regular people and that they are not Indicative of the cartel or the police and that I’m scared or anything, and I still go down there all the time you need to do better as a content creator and be honest and truthful and say where you were wrong and where you were just being a wimp and you saw a big long line and you didn’t want to get in it that far from the border and you figured oh the shorter lane has to be better and the sensory lane is OK without having century. That’s an entitled millennial Genzie attitude. That is such a disgusting and gross manipulation and exaggeration. What you entire generation does. Shame on you.
Great video though I was worried they might revoke your GE privilege for using Sentri with a non-registered vehicle. Sentri lanes are the only ones at US land borders where the vehicle of the trusted traveler needs to be pre-registered/inspected. Up north you can drive back into the US with your GE card but cannot use Nexus lanes into Canada unless you have a Nexus membership. Nexus is the best of all programs and the cheapest as well ($50), though you have to interview with US and Canadian border officials.
I feared that too as I sat confined in a gate as they inspected the vehicle. Good to know about Nexus up north. Thanks for sharing @redademe
It’s all at the discretion of the agent at the border that they dealt with. So these people just playing the dumb act got lucky. But the video shows that they lied and exaggerated about that they could not get into the regular lane with using the excuse that their vehicle was too big and couldn’t make a sharp turn because there isn’t only one entrance into the regular lane.there’s literally hundreds of ways that you go around the block and enter into the regular lane from a different street. To say that there is only one way into the regular lane and that big vehicle could not make that sharp of turn is literally a lie. Look on any map! You can enter the regular lane or the century lane from infinite number of angles! It’s just the one angle that they were on they may not have been able to maneuver their big vehicle, but that also says that they are a bad driver too. But that doesn’t mean that they weren’t other areas that they could’ve entered the regular lane. This video is a typical gross Exaggeration and entitlement of the younger generation.
Bleach does not combine with organic… its a soil killer… very Earth contaminating compound.
Your videos are very nice.🥰🥰🥰
Thank you very much. We try to make them the best we know how. Always trying to get better.
Love it!!
You're the man, thanks GrizzyK
just found your channel. I live out in Eagle Mountain UT. and it's a nice rural area that's pretty much in the desert. I see this up along our mountain out here, people come and camp and shoot and leave there shit everywhere and unfortunately this is how things get shut down, it sucks for everyone, stay safe look forward to your content!
Appreciate your message, Shawn! Unfortunately, some people spoil it for the rest. I just looked up Eagle Mountain - looks beautiful! Thanks for subscribing, let us know if there is anything you are curious about watching/learning!
@@zakandfal thanks! playing catch up on your vids, very informative!
Did you say in this post you are moving to Iowa City ??? I am from Iowa City too glad to welcome you both abd that's a shame that people have to ruin for those of us that keep our lands clear sorry you had to endure this
I take part in regular bush cleanups in our area, and for the most part it's homeowners who don't want to pay the tipping fees at the landfill. Or another common situation is someone pays someone else to do a dump run for them, they pay them, and instead of dumping at the landfill, they head out to dump it in the bush and keep the money. We've sometimes find people's mail with names, addresses, phone numbers mixed in with garbage, so they get reported. Can't do that with mattress and dresser though. Thanks for spreading the awareness. Leave no trace.
Forsure! Thank you for what you do.
There are more van life people who are on board with you, not slime, so hopefully this attitude will be passed on to others.
Some people just try to ruin it for everybody. Stay safe 🙏🏼
Looks pretty bad. However he’s also driving a gas powered vehicle and in some regards is polluting the environment. Some of the most wonderful people in the world have no money and are not from ‘stable’ environments or gated communities. That part of his argument I kinda didn’t get my head wrapped around. Having been a gardener for 20 years I’ve worked for some rather rich folk and have heard this argument from only to discover hypocrisy.
Absolutely understand and truly appreciate your perspective. You're absolutely correct about the environmental impact of gas-powered vans; they do contribute significantly more pollution than the alternative. When I mentioned influences earlier, I was thinking more about individuals striving to improve themselves and uplift others. Growing up in a trailer park myself, my upbringing wasn't in a gated community, nor would I aspire for that. My only contention is that I prefer to spend time with folks who share a deep appreciation for nature. Either way, appreciate your comment & mentioning that money doesn't equal quality... character does.
@@zakandfal Thanks. I’m listening but analyzing by my own experiences. All that trash dumped irresponsibly is but a small fraction of the trash produced by an affluent family. Sure it’s neatly put into bins at the transfer station but do we as a nation really repurpose and recycle? No. We don’t.
Call the park ranger may be an option.
@@JohnLaFosse Totally agree. We can all do better on that front. P.S. Gardening for a career sounds like a dream. Thanks again for the constructive convo
Gas powered vehicle lol. How do you think EVs are charged - by solar?😂
People suck.
That is disgusting! I don't understand why people just throw their trash wherever! I just don't get it
This is why we can't have nice things. 😥
I live on a lake in GA. Trash everywhere. People go thru the trouble to load trash onto their boat, take it to an island and dump it. We are a pathetic species
Do your civic duty and clean it up, don't simp about it!
where do you think he can put all that garbage? His van isn't even big enough to haul all that out, plus it's probably full of bugs and gawd knows what else.
Just trashy people leaving trash behind. Unfortunately, the counties and cities have begun to shot down public land because of this behavior.
People can be disgusting...
👻methheads are alowed to f up 🇺🇸 shame
People do that down in Uwharrie. People are disgusting.
Yeah, this is really sad. We just have to do our part where we can.
This is why van life people get a bad name !! They get the blame for rubbish being dumped !! Even though it mostly people that live in houses !
Yeah... just need to do what we can to help out, I suppose!
