    Slavery mentally divided African americans from their language cultures religions,tribe and history. And there lies the main problem in trying to reconnect with another races culture and languages and cultures. White people are to blame for this. The very issue they are trying to ban teaching about at school's.

    Even though I am a 16-year-old African-American girl, I've always wondered how Africa feel about us not being in the motherland ( Africa ) after the slavery happened because I will really be having hallucinations about what if I was born in Africa instead of the US. And I want to go over there and visit. In my opinion, Africans really go first before African-Americans. Because of all these rumors about Diaspora War, Blk America Vs. Africa is really stupid. I mentally, emotionally, and physically love my African brothers, mothers, sisters, fathers, and etc from the bottom of my heart!

    this is very intreresting and i get what the black american community is going through in this situation. i will say its the same thing in every culture tbh kinda sad but true asian americans are not totally excepted even adopted versions they are not the same but the adopted people will be excepted in a way that they are not totally obliterated from their heritage. if you are from nigerian and u came from naijaland i think thats what nigerian people call their land you are nigerian even when in america. if you are nigerian american born in america you are a culture halfie not nigerian. it feels very wierd for people to accept an adopted person becuz it looks like them but doesnt speak like them so its kinda wierd. if an african american was returning to america from nigeria that would be wierd cuz that doesnt really make sense its kinda of the same thing in any culture honestly.

    I'm white I do not consider myself European or any other part of genetic history. My skin is white but I am American. I do not understand black Americans calling themselves African. I do not understand pushy black Americans trying to get blacks from other countries to join some weird commoradery. I don't look at some white from Scotland and think I need to commune with them. It is better to worry about where your headed instead of where your ancestors came from.

  • @mountainmodel1714
    @mountainmodel1714 Před 3 lety

    Why do Africans think that every black American has been through slavery . Get the facts and history straight first . Not all black Americans ancestry were slaves, some black Americans ancestry were share croppers and farmers where they weren't enslaved but worked on a farm that they also had their own home on. And they partly owned the property that's how a lot of blacks in America own land. Right here in this country and y'all never mention that . It's always negative just like not all Africans sitting in a hut somewhere . White people give us false narratives of each other and we believe it instead actually getting to know each other

    From my experience, I have seen a deep hatred many African Americans have for Africans. I have experienced it on numerous occasions. But there are also numerous Africans that look down on African Americans. It all comes down to self hate and cultural differences. The younger generations are getting better, and I am happy to see Nigerian music for example getting adopted into American mainstream. It will take time for the ignorance to fizzle out, which will happen with more exposure to each other on both sides, but we are slowly moving in the right direction.

  • @christopherluvsaidan67

    Well they probably think the same like every other country in the world. Not very high regards. Africans are all about God, Church, Education, discipline and tradition and most black Americans don't do these things. Maybe some but its a whole different game. Just like Mexicans don't accept Mexican Americans. Its true we Mexicans dont.

    A co worker of mine is from the Ivory coast, he says the USA is the greatest thing ever. He cannot understand how some African Americans can be so ungrateful. He grew up in a village without electricity or sewage services. Everyone had to share one phone booth and draw water from one well. He worked as the village black Smith. He worked 14 hours per day, 6 days a week and made in one year what most American McDonald's employees made in a month. His family home was 500 sq ft and housed his mother, father, three brothers and four sisters grandmother and grandfather, they had a generator that they used for a couple of hours per week to watch soccer games and cricket matches. No running water or flushing toilets. He was amazed at all of the luxuries he could afford while making a relatively low wage. He has now been here for 26 years and through extreme frugality and hard work he has managed to pay for passage for his entire family to come to Michigan, except for the grandparents who refuse to leave Africa at this point. They are all living the American dream. His siblings have all went to college or trade school and have very well paying jobs, as gratitude they have all adapted to American culture, they celebrate Thanksgiving and 4th of July they have adopted western names and all have awesome lives all because of the awesome work ethic that was instilled in them by knowing what it is like to live without what they still consider luxuries, and never taking anything for granted, except for the family members who were born here, he admits he has spoiled them and says they wouldn't last a week back in Africa

      People can wallow in the past or thank God for the present. People can spend their waking hours with the past or focus on family and future. Slavery is a state of mind. All this focus on anything negative hurts the children and keeps the cycle. Five hundred years from now some black child will be drenched with we were slaves mindset. When Moses lead the jews away from slavery, the people rebelled and had to wander for 40 years. I don't care if I lived in a ditch I would make my kid believe it was fantastic. Because I would love the kid more than my own personal stuff. All this crazy is destroying America and more black lives. How many have been jailed for real crimes since this began? It isn't accomplishing anything good. But God can help. God is stronger than all this crazy. I don't feel guilt but I do feel worried about the children.

If you are my sibling and someone comes to our home and our Dad sells you to the person, how do you blame me for it?

    The most important fact that is missing from this discussion. One can't be talking about bringing two groups together when Africans arent one monolithic group to start with. I doubt the Nigerians, Kenyans, Ethiopians , South Africans all identify as one group , one voice, one culture etc. To further show how complex this is there are class differences, religion and ethnic background difference as well, even among people from the same country.
