APBC IDLING REDUCTION CAMPAIGN
The Ambulance Paramedics of BC recognizes that the practice of unnecessary idling needs to be addressed. Science has proven that vehicle emissions are not only harmful to one’s health, but they are also exacerbating the climate emergency. You can read about our campaign to reduce unnecessary idling in emergency services and beyond here.

In Vancouver so any Ambos are needed in the DTES, from BLS, ALS, and Advanced Care. I work in the area and get put on hold sometimes when getting transferred from the Ecomm call taker - even for high acuity calls!
Will you mind checking and monitoring all of my vital signs after I have taken a drug?

oh boy old Santa dying?
I could never figure out who was worse - the Employer or the Union. I'm against the privatization of health care, but I'm prepared to make an exception, as long as they fire everyone except the frontline workers.

no link what a joke
Where's the link to the petition..??
"Not enough people applying to be paramedics.." It starts at the bottom which I have experienced and I'm not surprised that the situation is where it's at in the present. I don't think I need to name names, but the institution offering the course, ran the course more from a business perspective, than a course for higher learning and training future paramedics. I personally felt that I didn't get the support that I needed, there were LITERALLY NO SCHEDULED PRACTICES with instructors and this was during the height of covid which meant that people weren't even technically allowed to congregate with each other after class. All the instructors said was "We'll turn a blind eye.." And because the majority of the other courses offered were cancelled, I feel that is why it was run more from a business perspective, than a course to help people become paramedics.. I felt thrown under the bus. There are other issues which I felt affected my time there during the course, such as the problem of getting your group on board for self-scheduled practices if they don't feel the need to, or don't have the time and energy for.. Overall, I don't think enough time, effort and respect is given in delivering the EMR course in a way that fosters true learning. I mean on the series "Paramedics: Life on the Line", there was a PCP who literally didn't know how to do CPR and had to be corrected by an ACP on scene. And this was on camera for everyone to see. Not very inspiring. Things need to change from the ground up and that goes for every type of problem. You cannot solve the problem if you don't know, recognize and acknowledge the root causes of those problems. While I got the highest marks on the written exams, I failed my practical exams and I feel that it wasn't entirely my fault.
They were correcting a fire fighter on CPR...there were no EMR's featured in that show.
If i live in Mexico but i hace the COPR licence, can i apply for a job in BCHS?
The paramedics in kamloops is garbage
My international associates and I are watching and sharing you whenever, wherever you are.
Troy Clifford, the Union president, also publicly supported the firing of hundreds of this unions members, for maintaining their own medical confidentiality and/or choosing not to participate in a risky, experimental medical procedure at this time. What is the point of a union? At the same time making public alerts about critical staff shortages. When the Union and the Employer work together, there is no use for one of them.
Thanks RAHAT
