Lap of Oz is costly! (Caravanning Australia)
No where near our half-way mark on our Lap of Oz, we finally make it to the west coast and explore Broome.
I suspect we have missed some of the town's highlights and I would love to hear from others that enjoyed Broome. What should we have visited?
Experiencing the sun setting over the Indian Ocean, we are surprised (OK, a little shocked) at the numbers of 4WDs on Cable Beach.
This trip hasn't been cheap and I summarize our 'unexpected' expenses so far.

We spent four days exploring the East Kimberley while staying at Kununarra. Day trips to Wyndham, Lake Argyle and visiting just a handful of natural wonders. We fly over the Ord River Dam. VERY unfit, but I join Leanne on the walk to Edith Falls Upper Pool. There are plenty of wildflowers along the way. We are rewarded by a swim in the Upper Pool & the beauty of the waterfalls. First day on our Lap of Oz with our good friends Dave and Leanne. Didn’t make it 400 kms before a shock absorber is dragging under a van! Only problem, it’s Saturday and we are in Outback Queensland. Another interesting video, thanks for sharing. Have you heard of the free software Route Generator (V: 1.11.00) for generating your travel route on map. I have recently seen this on a video: How we create our travel video's by Beyond the Grey Oz, works well. They explain how to use in that video, might be helpful. ☺☺

Yes I was there 2 weeks ago Could not ride my motorbike thru water crossings. Guy in tackle shop in Kununurra said another 2 months until water goes down for us bikes. I'm from Darwin. Go fish and camp on Ord River.

Looks like any mechanical failure is down to poor preparation.
dont forget to speed up on trucks at the overtaking lanes after youve held them up for miles at 80km hr tops,be a selfish ignorant prat and park in TRUCK ONLY rest areas where you are NOT supposed to be... ohhh and the all time favourite of caravanners always remember to wait until a truck is only 100-200 m away THEN pull clean out in front of it !!!

Dug the ol' EOS Canon out and used video settings for first time. Have a bit of a steep learning curve with settings but will get used to it with practice.
