This is a man who pledged to take care of her in season 2. Where is he? Instead he just goes off to be a slut in 17 cities? And doesn’t give two shits about a friend not writing him back? Just goes and fucks some more sex workers and Countesses? Let me write about it in my journals too! 3. His apology was glib and unworthy of Penelope and their friendship. They made it about Penelope thinking she is unworthy not Colin being a drunk ass and insulting her to eligible bachelors/her chances on the marriage mart. laughing 😆with men at Penelope’s expense. 4.Colin comes back does the same whoring about the entire time he is teaching Penelope lessons (for weeks apparently) and then kisses her because he feels sorry for her. Ugh that is so gross to me. 5.Then because he is supposedly so despondent over Pen having a suitor, he goes back to fuck some sex workers again. 6.He only gets up enough courage to tell Penelope how he feels once he knows she is getting proposed to. My fave scenes 1) the carriage scene ( everything about it was perfect. But I really love the shift from the books where Colin is the one to say “can’t the driver just keep going” and they start laughing 2) the first kiss 3) when they laugh about the Lords horse that died. It was so endearing to see them both being silly & giggling 4) Colin’s dream about Penelope 5) the scene where Colin cuts his hand. (The tension, the way he looked at her. But also the fact he curled his fingers to hold her hand)

I think the first kiss is my favourite. It’s beautifully acted, lit, shot and the score is perfect. I don’t agree though that she knew by getting him to kiss her it’d cause him to start feeling things. I think the whole point is she doesn’t think he cares or ever will for her that way and now she’s effectively undesirable she sees it as her first and last kiss. For her it feels really sad even though it’s beautiful.

There was a few scenes that I actually felt like they were important even if they weren’t in the same room together. (Not in any particular order) 1. The dream of Penelope (because this was his dream, the words she said was almost like this was what he wanted her to say back to him in real life) 2. Benedict teasing Colin that he slept in late and him being super uncomfortable 3. When they met in the market and she said she was unteachable. When she said she had to leave because she didn’t want anyone to notice: he smiled there, as if to say “so what if someone sees.” 4. The second brothel scene: him not being about to be a participant. Even his response with “fine” and then completely looking away. 5. The scene where he is talking with the guys at the gentlemen’s club about how intimacy should be desirable over being a rake. 6. When Eloise tells him she spoke with Penelope and he asked “oh what did she say?” As if he was curious if she wanted to change the not seeing each other arrangement. 7. Him asking the guys about Lord Debly at the ballon fair. And him watching Pen from afar that entire time. Even when he saved her, and instead of wanting praise from the other women, he was looking to her for her praise. 8. The interaction Pen had after the hand cutting scene where he prompted her to talk to the viscount and his horse has died. He was staring at the interaction but also showing concern that maybe the viscount said something untoward to her. And then them laughing later about it. 9. When he and Eloise got out the carriage and she noticed he was mentally distant. 10. After he got back from the gentlemen’s club, stumbling in his room, emotionally drained and tortured about Pen. 11. His interaction with his mom on the stairs and she basically encouraged him to go to the ball because she mentioned Pen’s upcoming proposal. He couldn’t even try to pretend that news didn’t rock him 12. Him in his study thinking about Pen before deciding to come to the ball to stop her proposal. 13. Him re-reading his journal and thinking about what Pen said about his writing. Wondering what her thoughts were, what she thought of him, maybe. These are micro scenes that helped develop the character and ambiance of how he felt about her. How at first he was completely fine with being flirtatious and cavalier but immediately after Pen rejected him more or less after their first encounter, the facade started to fall. You could tell he was slowing going back to his old self. Showing concern after Cresida ripped Pen’s dress and the guys he was talking to could care less about her well being. Especially during that time where a woman shouldn’t have been alone unchaperoned. But in the same sentiments: there was so many opportunities where he was alone with her and didn’t think twice about it. I’m on a tangent. Lol. Last thing: I find it interesting that there’s two love stories here. Colin falling for Pen and Pen always being in love with him but putting her feelings aside for the greater good. When Colin confessed, his words weren’t based on her feelings, but his. He actually has no idea if she felt the same way or if it was something that recently surfaced. In his eyes: this is probably something “new” for the both of them. When Pen confronted him about what she heard, she didn’t tell him that she was offended because she had been in love with him, but merely he hurt her as her friend. Never once did she let on that she felt deep romantic feelings towards him. His confession was merely his discovery of his feelings for her; him realizing that he didn’t like not hearing from her all summer, that she wasn’t at his disposal because of the strained relationship between Pen and El, that she put a stop to their lessons and kept their distance, that another man was vying for her affections. All of this realization was because he fell for her, as a woman, as a friend, and now a potential lover. Pen reciprocating his feelings wasn’t a full confession of how she’s loved him all these years. So I feel like a second love confession is in the future. I also think we need to hear Colin confess WHY he’s in love with her. Because it wasn’t ONLY because of the kiss. The kiss propelled his thinking, but the distance is what broke him essentially

As much as I loved the carriage scene, the points where you really saw the friendship just felt so good to me. How is Sean an Unproblematic King because he doesn’t have a Storyline in the previous 2 Seasons ? If he sold houses he would have a Storyline. If he was actual friends and didn’t burn his relationships he would be included and interact more with the Core Cast. It just seems like you are bias to Sean because he’s gay I mean Bi even though it was shown on camera he was lying. Unless it was editing. Sean was actually shown more in Season 1, less in Season 2. I don’t understand how a Straight Guy being interested in Alex Hall is a Red Flag she’s an Attractive Person with Fun Personality. She’s not for everyone but many if not most guys want to date women like that even if it doesn’t last.

Although regardless of how many women swooned over Tyler, I really think he just either played everyone, or really just doesn’t know what he wants-despite what he claimed to want (family wife and kids yada yada yada). He prolly just wants more tattoos more hookups and bonfires.

I don’t get why everyone is on Kayla’s side. How do most people don’t see that she is STILL fuming over the fact that Polly and Alex brought up the fact she asked to Kiss Tyler (and was then rejected) publicly. And yes the publicity that received unnecessarily multiplied her feeling of shame and/or perceived judgment from others. She was indeed absolutely the scorned woman. On top of that, she seemed she still had residual feelings toward Tyler. The fact that Polly had already made out with him (which was consensual because that boy wanted her), and that Alex and Tyler were constantly flirting with each other nonstop and he finally hooked up with her (needless to say-SUPER consensual; he perused her throughout the season for everyone to see), would naturally make someone who had/has feelings toward the man playing the field here, who had based on all sources blatantly rejected, whether he led her on or not. This can be an absolute ego-shatterer to a lot of people, men or women. Kayla knows she has been publicly rejected on television and the internet, and to know that her two other colleagues that she most likely had already harbored jealousy toward due to their professional success and significantly longer screen time and the bigger spotlights they’ve already attracted, would naturally have negative feelings toward them, especially Alex who ended up developing a much closer relationship with Tyler. That said, I’m not saying Alex is an angel. I kept an open mind to everyone but honestly having seen all the weird and hateful behaviors Kayla exhibited throughout the last season and on top of that how she behaved and talked about Alex (which were very generalized defaming descriptions) post last season, yeah, I too thought Kayla was crazy and perhaps clinically so. She seems to me like she is on a mission to destroy Alex because of all this hate she harbored since last season. It’s a bit much.

I don’t buy Hall’s apology. It was clearly to save face.

I fast forwarded through Ali, Sean, Kayla (I think her name is) and that other blonde chick that isolated herself last season so I am HAPPY and don't really know what is happening lol

That’s the thing Sean haven’t been in any drama until season 3. He can’t sell houses so he resorted to trash drama about 2 friends. If he had an issue with his friends such as Tyler and Austin then he should came to them for clarification. Sean is lying and I don’t believe a word he is saying. He took what Austin and Tyler said out of context because why would “nice legs” on instagram post that Austin commented on make him feel like someone is attracted to him in that way. Or Tyler saying I love you to a friend make him feel like it was more there. Like he was reaching in them arguments. If you have a miss understanding with a friend you bring it to your friend duh 🙄🙄 not purposely out them for your own benefit on national tv and then quit. Coward behavior.

I think Sean was shady and had a lot of inconsistencies e.g. he said he cut off Polly because she was toxic, but in S2 we literally hear him complain that Polly stopped talking to him. But I still can't feel sorry for Austin, because he started that swinger rumour about Jarvis in S2 and karma comes back tenfold. I also can't feel sorry for Tyler, because he acts like he is Mr Softy, but really, he is a toxic manipulative man child who needed to be called out for his antics.

I don’t think Sean was making shit up about Austin. Javis was a lawyer before she became a real estate agent. She said in many interviews that she is still on Sean’s side and they are still very close. Also alluded that Sean didn’t lie. She is a smart girl and she wouldn’t be risking being targeted for any potential defamation lawsuit by supporting something she doesn’t believe is the truth.
