We just saw Judah & the Lion in Omaha a few days ago. We've loved the band for a long time but this was our first opportunity to see them live and one of our first reactions to each other was "He really cares about interacting with everyone in the room" - I thoroughly enjoyed the goofiness and quirkiness of the performance as well. My husband and I CANNOT wait to see them again and could watch them in concert for HOURS. Fans for life! 😊 And now we get this incredible conversation?! Connection is truly such a powerful part of their music. So many songs have left me feeling less alone. As far as Jk goes, for me it's not about wanting to keep him a baby but just the opposite. He thinks singing about fkng and consensual mysogyny is cool, mature and sexy. He has been babied far too much not only by the members but by the fandom. They keep saying "he's a grown man" yet defend him as if he's still 15. He perpetuates it with the fake "im so innocent" interviews then overcompensates with singing about fkng. The one good thing about this terrible era in his music is the leopard finally showed its spots. He puts off so many red flags of being a Narcissist that I'm surprised more people haven't caught on yet. Him and JH are acting like spoiled middle school bullies and whoever finds that sexy and mature is a pick me immature clueless twit.

I'm part of the 4th section of ARMY. I initially was not into this group at all because I thought they were just more sexy fluff with no substance. It wasn't until I saw their messaging and true personalities that changed my mind and I became a fan in 2019. Then I didn't care about the sexy stuff because it was just a small part of their whole. I definitely wasn't rewinding any sexy choreo like the more hormone-driven ARMY and I sure as shit wasn't tolerating any toxic fan fic. Anyway -- I have no problems with the guys being men -- having girlfriends, being sexy, being themselves, what have you. Like you said, it would be weird for them to still act like children. But I feel, tbh, that JK is trying too hard to prove he's not a child a la Miley Cyrus, and it's a bad look that honestly makes him look like... a child. One who thinks that being an adult means tossing out basic songs about girls and f*cking. I mean... yawn. Which is whatever, I just don't listen to it. BUT my actual issue -- and the reason I can't get behind his recent songs like Seven -- is that they are conflating respectful sex with "f*cking." That word is only ever used in a negative way to harm, humiliate, or downplay anything respectful. I can't tell if he even knows that is the true definition of the word because of the way it gets thrown around by western "artists" who I honestly think are trash. Sorry, not sorry. It seems an entire generation has been fooled into thinking sex and f*cking are one and the same. F*cking is reserved for side pieces, one-night-stands, or people you don't really even like, and is never ever used in a respectful way. So for a song to be all about caring for someone and then to toss that in is just...gross to me. For the same guy who wrote Magic Shop to put out a message like that to a generation of people depressed af about the objectification and misogyny destroying mental health these days was...way more disappointing than I can articulate in a YT post. I still appreciate JK. I still think he has more in him. I'm just waiting for this phase to be over.

But for a start, have you listed to the ice spice interview...it's an American accent and Matty is seriously English, he laughed but he did not diss Ice spice. Also have you done any research on the Dubai incident coz he personally followed up with the fan and he said it was the happiest day of his life!! Please tell us what the antisemitic and homophobic things he has said/done.... This reminds me on the attacks on Johnni Depp etc. people throw stones first then get to the facts later. There is so much info on the context of these things and also those he didn't do. And coming from his "fans" is even more disappointing. She attacked Ariana for wearing sports wear but doing it in a sexy way so that it "appeals to a male gaze" while also admitting that she tells her female clients not to express their own sexuality and freedom after a break up, because they will regret it later. Like why is she penalising women for wanting to be sexy for whatever reason? Also I don't think Billy Elish is famous because she looks like most girls. A huge part of her audience are white heterosexual men and they worship her beauty and attitude, just like they did when Avril Lavigne debuted in the music industry. hi! i saw your video on my fyp and this is the first time i listen to your podcast (i was listening it on Spotify but i wanted to leave my comment haha) and i loved this episode. i am already excited to listen the others <3 i also wanted to add i am a huge Harry Styles fan and one of the things that really resonated with me about the podcast was the discussion over how fandoms can project whatever narrative they want around their "idol" and the people in their lives. i feel like is something really common, specially in Harry’s fandom. we see fans pushing and specific narrative about his partners, his friends, his family in order to keep him as their comfort person because once you admit you don’t know those people, it would mean you don’t actually know Harry as a real human being. idk if i made myself clear but i feel like that’s what happened with Johnny’s fans. in order to keep looking at Johnny as this nice and funny actor, Amber HAVE to be a bad person otherwise, they have to face the reality. anyway, i loved the episode! <3
