Very good information. Door dashing is way different in vegas.. over here we get raped by door dash. They are so cheap, we don't see 10-dollar base pay rides often if at all. Also, you can only decline one ride per hour and cannot get below 95 acceptance and completion rate or you get deactivated..

My neghibors are constantly getting doordash etc and most of the food is in town near my work. I should join just to bring them food OMW home from work every day.

This is a great video very good info Area is a HUGE factor folks try to go to a wealthy area or an area with expensive restaurants like he said. I have a few areas near me that are super wealthy people and really nice restaurants that are pretty expensive all the restaurants are really close to eachother. My point is if you live in an area that kinda sucks it is probably worth it to drive 20,30 or more miles to a nicer area. Also college towns or areas are decent money many times as well.

In a city get a bike or moped. Parking wastes more of my time than anything else so i drive outside the city now. Plus bikes are free a lot and cars aren't.

Could you please clarify this? For one of the days you said you had inactive time as 11 hours and active time as about 6 hours. From the time you are available to receive orders to the time you stop dashing for the day, how long is that period of time?

Who started this whole Surron is an ebike thing? Surronster? The Surron was advertised and is an Electric dirt bike. I bought it as one and dont lie to myself that it's an ebike. This is one of the big reasons we are having crackdowns. I dont care of you get mad at me, that thing needs to be registered. Want an ebike? Go buy a Super 73 or something similar

Your acceptance rate matters very much, if you are not above 70%, you are no longer top Dasher and can only get offers for 1 hour at a time about 3 times a day, whoop, whoop, have fun making a whole $20.00 a day

i've been messing around with it this week... Dashing... sad numbers for me :D around $10 an hour. it's kind of addictive though, it's not my main job and i love driving so, yeah. why not.

I find that if you’re acceptance rate is too high, DoorDash will send you crappy offers because they know you will take nearly any offer they throw your way. But I have also found that if your acceptance rate is too low, they also send you a lot of crappy offers because they think you’re desperate and want to keep your acceptance rate above 70% For the top Dasher status. I typically hover around 80% and I don’t get as many two dollar orders going 4 miles.

If I followed his advice about the $2 a mile I would only do like one dash a week. Feel like the advice all these guys give only works if you live in a city with at least 100,000 people. I’m doing it in a small city of about 10,000 (might be less) and I get 3 dashes, 4 on a good day, during lunch.

Offering because detailed comments on DD vids were really important when I started. As of 5/22/24, the "rewards program" is turning out to be literal punishment. I live in a slow podunk town, & not able to schedule dashes. I've been a 5 star dasher for many consecutive months up until this wk (currently at 4.99). Dashing for 3yrs p/t with 4108 deliveries. As of today, my completion rate is 96%. I bust my a$$ to give exceptional service. Generally the quality of the ppl in my area is challenging vs. the level of service I give. Less than a month ago, I was cussed at because I had multiple orders. Ive been called the N word.. I report it, keep my cool, and continue to sustain a 5 star rating. I mention this to paint a picture of the town. Yesterday, I declined a few more offers than normal because they were disrespectfully bad, it brought me down to a 74% AR (Top dasher minimum is /was 70%). TODAY, when I logged on to dash, I found out I cannot. I have 4 jobs while trying to get my business up and running, & been a top dasher every month I've driven, except for 1 possibly 2 months. I am not a lazy dasher. Literally the opposite. Daily, a handful of customers go back after delivery, give me 5 stars & increase my tip, because pleasant and good customer service is surprisingly alien here. Trying to motivate & keep decent drivers delivering. Unfortunately, the result of this DD program penalizes drivers for high level of customer service. It pressure dashers to accept absolute problematic orders. Which completely nullifies the ability to take good care of quality customers. Example: In this town an order to an 800 unit trailer park, 20 miles away with no tip, unpaved and unlit roads is a reality. There are elders here on fixed incomes. So I try to be positive and take orders close in distance that might not have a tip. But many times with this program especially in these types of areas, DD will pair a quality customer, who includes a tip, has a fairly straight forward order, from a good restaurant; couple their order with a toxic order, which has no tip, is a long wait, far away, in a huge apartment complex, and the toxic customer wont respond to their dasher who's trying to find them, but is demanding luxurious front door service. On top of that, DD will warn you with a deactivation notice when the order takes longer than estimated because of it. Not to mention the GPS is horrifically inaccurate for over 90% of these complexes/ parks. Its bad for all parties involved in the experience. Its turning out to be a really bad business model. It also puts dashers in danger, and your car at a high risk of damage and maintenance. Good luck finding automotive repair or gas incentives through DD. They offer no real solutions. And the VIP support they advertise for platinum dashers is generally so bad, it can take longer than the delivery. I assume because they outsource the support to lower wage countries. I doordash in CA of the United States. In 3 yrs of dashing, I have spoken to 1 native English speaking person. Don't get me wrong, native english does not equal good support. Understanding the issue, and being empowered to fix it equals good support. As you can see with the length of this comment I am seriously concerned with the " trial rewards program". I called support regarding my situation & it has been escalated. Someone is supposed to be calling me back w/in 24hrs. I was considerably over 100 deliveries as of Monday. Tuesday is when I declined multiple offers based on the top dasher criterion. I was still over 100 deliveries for the last 30 days. I was prevented from dashing Wednesday, but was at 102 deliveries total. After looking just now at 1:32am pst Thursday morning it shows me at 91 deliveries. This program is proving to be beyond unfair. For someone who works incredibly hard, it feels extremely discouraging and very bad business practice. This is going to seriously jeopardize my income levels this week, and hinder my ability to achieve my "100 deliveries" for the month, or however they measure it now. I wish all of you dashers good luck as well as those considering it. Maybe they can construct a situation that works for different levels of dashers that communicates objectives better, and more fair, because so far this is proving to be damaging.

As of 5/22/24 its ALL BAD. The "Top Dasher" status doesnt apply anymore if you are in an area they are doing the new "reward program." In order to dash anytime you have to hold a minimum acceptance rate (AR) above 80% completion rate (CR) above 97%, a customer rating above 4.8 with, 150 deliveries.. you must keep this rate 100% of the time. Its no longer by the beginning of each evaluation period. They are FORCING YOU to accept absolute problematic orders. If you dash you know exactly what this means. Today I lost my status with no warning, and cannot dash. As of this comment, I have a 4.99 star rating (5.0 stars the last 3 months). Over 4100 deliveries. 74% AR.. 96% CR..

It's Door Trash. Philly is a huge market. I've been opening delivery units and delivering since 1988. Nobody around here averages more than 20 bucks an hour gross doing this garbage app. Then add in the extra 7.5 percent in Medicare and S.S. tax and if you can break even, you're lucky. Worst 1099 job EVER. F..K Door Crap.

Better than 6-8 hrs doing rideshare and food delivery hoping make $100 a day. I do instacart uber Lyft very part time mostly to use money to fund my business I decline if it’s taking me too far away like next town over without guaranteed order on the way back! Instacart also stacks orders. I did Uber shop n deliver but Walmart is head ache bc multiple locations and some heavy merchandise

Is TopDash a new option? You didn't mention it in your video. So, your tips don't work for TopDash when you have to keep your acceptance more than 70%.

Leave clear dropoff instructions, gate code, where the unit is located in the complex. And tip extra if it's a long way from the street or distance from restaurant.always tip a shop and deliver order.
