Slightly, in assist mode, you can jump off just a bit later off the platform than normal mode. Making it slightly easier to make jumps in assist mode, however the difference is fairly small, so for these beginner jumps it really doesn't matter :)

Makes trickjumping way easier, so I don't have to go back to the same spot every time. When I don't trickjump I go regular mode. I've already beaten this whole game damageless too
