Just saw a production of this in Chicago recently (my friend played Mrs. Bateman!) and this song has stuck with me. Gorgeous. So sad this show didn't get its due when it was on Broadway, but am grateful I finally got to see it here in Chicago.

American psycho is a comedy Albeit brutal, saturical and dark, but still a brilliant comedy: both the book, the film and this musical

I loved seeing this show and wish it would come back. Sadly I don’t think it’d work at all in America anymore, too much real violence and a sense of humor isn’t allowed on the subject anymore . It was an amazing production. Way ahead of it’s time , 2033 might have been better , who knows

Saw this on Broadway and really enjoyed it. It was a great production. I still have one of the prop $100 bills they shot out into the crowd. I actually bought one of the raincoats too.
kind of a weird move to offload all the brand stuff onto the women as if the dudes arent just as bad
the dudes have several other numbers. they are just as bad.

@@yahooanswers4843 you don't think the cards number indicts the men as just as materialistic as the women-just not as clever, interesting, or self-aware? because that is how it plays to me. the women are doing 8 thousand things during the number-getting ready, setting the table for the party, taking phone calls, all while making all of these observations about fashion, culture, themselves, women, etc. the men in cards are jumping and playing on the furniture and talking about themselves. (which is such a real dynamic to how life works, I feel.) the women at least inject moments like the gasping section. which tells us that they know the sophisticated and scary world of juggling chainsaws they exist in every day. they get it. where as the men really don't. they are not as self-aware. also the women's view takes in the world at large with all the brands, the places they refer to in the lyrics. to me the men are so micro-focused that all of that energy stays on that card. their lyrics keep them just on the cards really. they aren't even self-aware enough to know what their behaviors are about, the women at least know that they do the gasping thing to survive. the men are clueless, they just want that card to be the right type-face and the best new color. they seem to have no understanding of how that exists in any outside world. I feel the women at least know there is an outside world. i might just be crazy though. that is my take at least. I find the piece is just as harsh on the men, in a different way is all. but I hear you. but I also give over that I could absolutely be wrong on all this.

The choreography of this part is INSANE. They're all aggressively weaving among each other, and it seems aimless and random, but ITS NOT?? They all get to their cues precisely on time and on point, and there is no room for error. So talented <3
