UDOT Clearing Seasonal Roads | SR-35 Wolf Creek Pass
zhlédnutí 19KPřed měsícem
A lot to unpack here, but you should know we’re working on clearing seasonal roads (mountain passes that are closed in the winter) around the state. Wolf Creek Pass, SR-35, will likely be the first to reopen next week. All other seasonal roads are still closed at this time. As always, we’ll let you know when that changes. 🫡 #utah #utahsnow #snowblower #heavymachinery

And that’s a wrap on Winter Season 2023/2024 (for most of the state). ❄️ While spring is unpredictable in Utah, and our mountain crews are still busy plowing and clearing seasonal roads, we wanted to share some highlights from this season with you. Since September, our crews have plowed 1.2 million miles and clocked 68,315 hours. 🤯 Or in other words, they plowed the equivalent of Earth’s equato...

Please show me some small intersections in the city center.
From the driver's perspective, very bad design.
How much more would it cost it the two intersections were at different levels? In other words, one was a bridge.
Better Things for Better Living... Through Engineering!
Never cook again
Hear me out: no.
Just get in the correct lane ffs
One more lane trust me bro
This is all good, until I saw traffic light
I thought this kind of interchange looked dumb, but then I recreated it in Cities Skylines and it actually works remarkably well for handling traffic, at least according to the game's AI.
Why does the music sounds like from a Sims game?
Utah and Florida, two states where the government works effectively to benefit the citizens.
You are constantly refering to north, south, east, and west. It would have been good to have those directions shown on the video. Because they are not, the video is somewhat hard to follow.
As a side issue, note that NONE of that heavy equipment used there could EVER possibly be battery electric. For several separate reasons.
what.?
Snow will humble the craziest of southern "badasses"
then it’ll snow another 7 feet the following morning
Hey,I'm sending y'all some more snow this week,enjoy!!! 😆
My wife's cousin skied into one of those. At least it was quick.
Damn Global Warming!
Anti government song
My dream job👍
What do you think the street value is on all that blow. I mean snow.
Y'all should get the Wolf Crik Pass song for audio!
Doing gods work
Man, i thought my state got a lot of snow!
BS, a bridge with a 4 leaf clover is cheaper and eliminates traffic lights, congestion and accidents. This idea has to be a DEI employee dream.
Informative
This is a great video - very well done!
Never heard of this until I saw there is one coming to Florida
IF, there’s no line of traffic waiting before the merge sign. If you don’t take your place in line and you zip to the front while everyone else is waiting, you’re a jerk.
If people use both lanes and merge at the merge point, as they should, then there isn't an empty lane for people to "cut around"
@@slsslc8207 that’s what I said, and if they don’t and you zip to the front of the line, you’re a jerk.
It’s literally the law calm down 😂
@@Rectitude4U please explain how following the LAW is being a jerk? The only jerks are idiots not understanding the traffic they are causing further back by piling into one line early. Try understanding the world a bit better before commenting something so provably wrong
@@ShongoStick First, “zipper merge” is not a law. Not that I’m aware of. State the law or code if you know otherwise. Second, if you see a construction merge sign, that’s the time to merge. That’s when normal people do it. If there’s 15 people in a single lane that have already merged (like polite people) and you zip to the front of the line, and try to squeeze in, you’re a jerk. That’s cutting a line. You don’t do that at the amusement park and you don’t do it at a grocery store. That doesn’t change just cuz you’re in a car.
Супер
If it works, why doesn’t it work? Why are we still coming to a complete stop to let people get over out of the closed lane?
With a lane reduction there will always be resulting congestion except in extremely low traffic scenarios. What the zipper merge actually does is reduce reduce the overall length of the backup so it doesn't block entrance or exit ramps before the merge point.
Oh very simple, because we’re tailgating, because we’re afraid of getting cut off If you’re giving the car in front of you the appropriate following distance, you merely would slow to merge Instead of the mess
Gracias por tener a alguien que hable español y nos explique lo que sucede en Utah !
I drive on one of these DDs almost daily and I love it.
Peak informativness!
Nice visuals in Video
Merchandising parabéns
It looks like a modified Diverging Diamond interchange. The only feature I haven’t seen is the u-turn lane. They work incredibly efficiently.
Have another look.
Scheduled to be built in 2023 my ass. We need the corridor built between salt lake and Utah counties, now. Redwood in Saratoga is a joke.
People are dying at the intersections of 41 & mt view corridor and mainly 35th south & mt view corridor they need tstart the build immediately
People need to stop running red lights. Basic driving 101 and people can't even get that straight.
Fuck this shit waking me up every morning fr be shaking me whole apartment complex
When two congested lanes become one ? Unless otherwise posted, the non-ending thru lane does not become anything. It stays exactly as it did before the other dead lane ended. It does not merge, and it's the ending lanes drivers who must merge into it it. The states with mandatory zipper merge for both lanes have to change their traffic code to reflect a shared liability by both lanes drivers. It can give drivers a false sense of entitlement when they drive in different states that dont mandate a zipper merge, and merely recommend it instead.
What is the definition of merge? Really tough to figure that out.
How many ppl are dying on it??
Thats what you call an overly complicated roundabout.
We need more flex lanes on 4700 S and 3500 S West Valley!
I think this plan is amazing. Next, we should apply more flex lanes to 4700 S and 3500 S just like 5400 S. THAT would be a HUGE game changer traveling to the east or west side!!
Be aware
its not gonna work what happens if they go in the wrong direction or run thru cars
