A New Way of Making a Carrotte
How to make an easy carrotte for fermenting, and reducing storage t0bacc0.
Note: this is medium case and suitable for aging but if you want it to ferment like andullo or mapacho, you're going to want it to be more moist.

I assume this is going to work out just fine, but it's technically an experiment. #tobacco #gardening I primed the bottom three leaves from 7 Jaffna plants.

How to hand cut whole leaf tobacco for pipe smoking
zhlédnutí 17KPřed 7 lety
I demonstrate the simplest way to cut whole leaf tobacco (with a knife). I'm using a homegrown flue cured tobacco called Helena - seeds from Northwood Seeds. I pulled a leaf out to see how the post-curing kilning process is going. It will still need another two weeks at 121F and 75% humidity, and a couple weeks of rest until it's aged to my liking.

I, too, prefer smoking my own cigars. If someone offers me a store bought cigar I will smoke it but I always return the favor by giving them one of mine. It's what I call the $10 dollar for $1 dollar trade.

I live in South Africa and there is currently as tobacco ban. Decent people becoming criminals to have a smoke and black market is screwing grannies and poor people for exorbitant prices I'm not a smoker myself but want to help these people out. This is when I decided to make home-made cigarettes and sell it to the people I know. I managed to get "raw" tobacco leaves and after doing some research started processing them. The first 1Kg of tobacco is almost done but not shredded(my shredder broke). The research I looked at suggested washing the leaves in very hot water, sqeusing it like a sponge. Keep doing this for 10-15mins while taking out the main and other big stems. This is my 1st time so what I'm doing now is taking out all the stems I possibly can by keeping only the leaf part. I'm not sure if this is necessary but I believe the stem would make for a "harder" smoke and I would like to have a good quality product. After taking out the stems put the leaves through a shredder. (I ordered a tobacco shredder this time around still waiting for it to arrive.) Now take the shredded tobacco and bake, roast it at 150 degrees Celsius for 25 minutes, mixing it continuously. When the tobacco is golden brown take it out and spray with 2% citric acid and water mixture to dampen it slightly. Your tobacco is now ready to be used. Would anyone like to add or suggest something and my method?

I've seen this many times in Alberta, but the last 5 years has been not this active until this year! This was a Tornado Producing Supercell that formed in the overnight! Tops hit 70,000ft while the base was just only 600ft above the ground under the dangerous part! The tornado lifted near Silver Creek Golf Course just south west of Camrose as this storm came racing north! But the rotation was persistant until it turned into a Mesoscale Convective Complex over Leduc County the rotation subsided and the Tornado Warning dropped! I saw the GOES IR satellite of this storm it showed the height and cloud top temps and they were well below -100°C on the highest! Thats taller than a tropical thunderstorm and a category 5 Hurricane!
