I first saw this back in 2012 when taking a college class covering Asian-American history. I cried. I still revisit this 8 years later as a working asian-american artist.

To Asians people if you not a racist planning to come to the States then don't come to America cause you'll learn how to be a racist. For beings Asian here as a low percent of population the Americans look at Asians just came from somewhere not from this earth...And for those Asians been here 2nd or 3rd generation they got brainwash goes against Asians their owns people. Hollywood Movies never has any nice thing to say or show about Asians people....think!

Combination of talent and passion ! Amazing

it is a mixture but not it may not be a equal mixture of both the way we identify ourselves one can dominate another one. In his case its his American identity that has dominated him and when he goes to look for his Asian identity he is faced with all those American stereotypes about Asians and he cant relate to it.

I love this poem it just speaks to me...i love the fact her understands what most people don't get..marriage is about love..nothing else matters. It's sad that two ppl in love like his sister and her wife couldn't get married in america but a man and a women drunk in Las vegas can...in what world is that fair.

Maybe I'm not understanding it right, but to me, it doesn't sound like he's looking for Asia America, but just Asia instead? To me, Asia America is more about the mixture of cultures, not having one dominating the other.

So ignorant about my own country. Apparantly in april 2001 we married the first gay couple ever in the world. (The Netherlands)

A year later and this still makes me cry. I wonder if I should write a article about gay marriage. Why? It is now exactly ten years ago that gaymarriage was legalised (?) in the Netherlands. Since then it is also in Belgium, Spain, part of America and other countries. I hope that in another ten years gaymarriage is accepted in more than half of the world, with America and Europe leading.
