Four Days in Peru's Amazon Jungle
Piranha fishing. Pink dolphin spotting. Dancing with local tribe members. A trip to Peru's Amazon jungle has it all! We knew we wanted to experience the world's biggest rainforest when we went to Peru, but figuring out where to go, what to do and how long to stay there can be overwhelming. So we've got you covered! Here's a look at our itinerary for four days and three nights outside of Iquitos, Peru.
Some quick tips:
-We highly recommend Maniti Expeditions! We loved our guide Alfredo and had a great experience overall.
-Stay for at least two but preferably three nights. It takes a while to get there, so one night isn't enough. But it is rustic, so unless you're used to roughing it, more than three nights might start to wear on you.
-Most tour companies provide rain boots, but they may not be in great shape. So bring plenty of extra socks or your own boots if you can.
-Other waterproof gear, such as ponchos and backpack covers, will come in handy.
-Bring a headlamp for night hikes!
-The bugs are no joke. Get your recommended vaccinations, bring plenty of bug spray and wear long clothes despite the heat.
-Bring cash to buy drinks and to tip your guide and staff.
-Don't drink the water, even to brush your teeth. And bring Imodium just in case some slips in!

We were thinking of finding a guide once arriving
Thank you for your video me and Jan both enjoyed it. We are going later in the year so it was nice to watch.
Turtle or sting ray
Did you need more limited suitcases going here?? We will be going for 2 weeks to Peru, and this is the last part of it, so our luggage wont be light. So just wondering.
Did you hear any local’s talking about Los Pelacaras?
Across the river from the floating bar with piranha I have my Fishing and Hunting Lodge :) Welcome to the Jungle guys enjoy :)
A cow is in a meadow is chewing its cud one sees this as a beautiful thing another sees this as something to eat and that someone would eat anything on legs even a table well I say lets give them more tables to eat do you here that CHINA and close your WET MARKET that killed thousands of the human species.
What a beautiful creature of creation.
Beautiful video you have inspired me to go here
Awesome adventure.. I wish I could do one week in an Amazon jungle.
thanks
great video! In my case my experience was different, for video and instagram purposes that lodge called tree house is very nice and even something luxurious, the problem is at night, since the rooms do not have windows, the only thing that will save you from a tarantula or snake while you sleep It is a mosquito net or mesh which makes you think about it during the night so you don't get to sleep for fear that some animal will get into your room... I use the internet in the jungle in a cabin-type hostel At that time, I was able to get a promo with yakumama tours, according to what I read in other comments, it is the most reliable for hospitalizations and well, it went well, good attention and the good thing is that their rooms are well closed, now you can sleep peacefully, what if An important detail is that due to the geography, the telephone and internet signal does not reach, so if you do teleworking it is not a good option. A detail for travelers is not to book the tours with a swimming pool, it is super dangerous because they usually do not maintain it and there is the problem of the mosquitoes and that amoeba and then if something happens to you they do not give you a guarantee, take it into account travelers to take their own bottled water to avoid upset stomach in the amazon.
where is the place exactly?

Been there. Done that, and it was AMAZING !
#1 activity = die
How much per night is the stay? All inclusive foods?
Hi, loved your video, which month you went?
Wunderschönen dankesehr
A couple of changes to the narrative of this nice tour. First, sadly, Steve Adams died in 2021. Second, it’s $20 tours now instead of $10.
Funny!!
Very brave hiking that slot canyon in the rain. Great report on one of my fav parks.
This is an excellent video. You mentioned several places that get skipped over on other people's "things to do in Death Valley" videos, and you gave good information about each place. I don't know if it's a temporary COVID thing but I haven't seen the Amargosa Hotel open in the last few years.
They couldn't keep enough customers during the lockdowns so had to temporarily close. Idk if they're gonna be permanently closed. I'd recommend people try to call and ask because it's worth it to go.
Hi we got back from 1 month in Peru 3 months ago..8 days we spend at Maniti Lodge, we would live and die there..truly enjoyed this adventure, we felt truly safe ... thank you Maniti, 😊
Sorry hears that you said it that you booked with maniti. But did you feel safe and all? In peru in general too?
Yes we did! We kept our wits about us going through some bits of Lima at night, but never felt too concerned. And definitely felt safe everywhere outside the city!
Awesome video! Did you feel safe during this experience? Did you book it with maniti expeditions?
thank you for sharing ! teamo peru
Those trees are massive! Seems like such an amazing place to explore. So cool
British Seagull
What a great video! During what time of the year did you go?
Thanks so much! We went in the middle of March. Weather was great!
Best informative overall you tube video of Death Valley that I viewed. And I love Wonderhussy.
So glad to hear that! Thanks so much!
Hey, my neighborhood guys. Thanks for visiting✌️👍🙏💪❤️ greetings from Santa Clara de Ojeal 🌴🌴🌴 Jungle Harry @ Friends of The Amazon Jungle ✌️
Have you guys camped at Mahogany Flats campground? My road trips all start in Ottawa, Canada and because I am a teacher all of my southwest trips happen in July or August. This campground is usually windy with overnight with lows in the 50s. The hike to the top of Telescope peak is long but the view from the top is worth it. You look directly down on Badwater and can see snow covered Mt Whitney in the west … the lowest and highest points in the continental US
We have not but it sounds great!
The monkey😍😍😍 so sweet. I have planning to go, good reference. Thx
👍
I just came from Peru a few days ago . I was there for two months. One month in the Amazon . And Lima the last month. The jungle is amazing. My whole purpose of going to Peru was to do Ayuasca . It was all worth it.
Lovely place peru, just dont stay to long in airport
It is such an amazing country! And uh oh, sounds like there’s a story behind that advice... 😳
Very interesting! We've never been to Peru, great to know what to expect
Thanks for watching! Peru is so amazing. We plan to do at least one more video on other parts of our trip. So much to see there!
Great to hear. Look me up when you get here. Would love to host. Jungle Harry
Thank you for your report on Death Valley, excellent, well organized, and easy to follow. We are going this weekend and your video really helped us to organize our trip.
That’s so awesome to hear! Have a great trip!
Such a wonderful trip, love your energy to go there👍👍
Thank you! It really is a special park.
Great video! I was just there and made a video too. Thanks again!
Nice! We subscribed and will check it out!
Excellent excellent excellent video guys I like it 👍🏻 hey guys a question how many days can take me to see all what you show to us in this video??
Thanks Ed! We were only there three days and it was easy to see all of this. If you want to explore the north part of the park too you’d need at least one more day, since it’s a pretty good drive. Hope you have a great trip!
Thank you appreciate it,, 👍🏻👍🏻
Can I just say I loved the energy! Thank you for tour!
Thanks so much! 👍
And you didn't get heat stroke or dehydration. I hope you keep making videos. Don't stop.
Haha, we survived! Thanks so much for the encouragement. 🙏
Awesome video..We have been there a few times..loved it
Thanks so much! This was our first trip and we definitely want to go back!
Just subscribed!
Awesome, thanks so much!
Lovely video. You're both very cute.
Aww, thanks much!
Awesome video. But cannot forget ubehebe crater, remnants of an exploded volcano and its crater. Also do not walk out into the racetracks in the rain. Ruined beauty by so many idiots leaving permanent foot steps in the background.
Loved it! All your information was super helpful ❤️
Thanks, and so glad to hear it!
Just subscribed! You all are our new favorite channel!
Aww, you’re too kind! We haven’t been active on here during the pandemic, but looking forward to getting it rolling again very soon!
