Saw this yesterday, wow its something alright
Its a great little car for the money :) engines sweet, all body panels bolt on, so them bits are easy sorted. I'm sure andy will get it looking great

@@toooldfortwowheels2048 they are great little cars. You can get a clean one, parts are cheap and easy to get. Very reliable little cars.. I daily mine, and this one's is now Andys daily driver

Was that a steam train I heard? If so, what line is it? I replaced my radiator recently and did everything as you should but couldn’t get heater to work, but a few revs cleared the air lock and been good since 👍🏻 I also used tap water on advice from a couple of mechanic friends.
@@AnonymousAndy2 yeah the air block normally is one of two places thermostat. You clear by pumping the pipe, and the heater matrix you clear with revs... Top work The steam tram was the Romney Hythe Dymchurch railway (RH&DR).. It's a small stream railway that goes along romney Marsh. Ha Ha Ha, amazing, glad you enjoy the flower pot trips :) thats made my day My mk3 gets an amazing amount of hate,,, "oh thats no good, its not a mk2" " oh thats the ugly one" I just let it blow over me, they do not know what they are missing. I have had all shapes and sizes mr2's, i still have my original mk1 that i got in 1999. I like all three for different reasons.Mk1 is my fav shape, and the 4age on song is sweeeet The mk2 for boost and they do look great, but my least favorite to drive Mk3 they drive brilliant Thanks :)
Facelift headlights and tailights get good money if you break it...I have a mint 2004 with 36000 miles, factory hardtop and tte style bar....pic on avatar.

Anyone else now searching marketplace looking for a local MR2 to save 😂. My MR2 is all done and so I would like another project and saving an MR2 could fit the bill 🤔.
I love saving them rather than the being broken. This was going to the junkyard!! Mine personal 2zz is brilliant, but it now needs so love so I'll do a video of that one soon.. But I'll keep and eye out for another that needs saving

Mostly likely due to pinion bearing wear. A common problem. Not harmful to the car but will get worst. If so, needs a rebuild or swap out.

Otr vcm 13 camshaft, being manual either run 3.7 or 3.9 diff gears high rise manifold, that’s the usual go to here in aus street or burnout car 🤙

Yeah head was lifting under boost... All it needed was head re torquing
near 20 years old now and still in nice condition shows they were built to last.
thanks yeah its lasted really well, helps it only has 85K miles, but it got lots of life left in it!

Does your gearbox have a bad crunch?
Nah.. not really. It does have a slight crunch in second and . Occasionally I get the clutch slightly wrong.. it's a 6 paddle clutch with a pretty low bite . So sometimes just catch it wrong .
The gearing though is wrong into 5th! Aaron's is the same. Use 4th to top end .5th then drops to just over 5k.. others don't have this issue.. wonder it there is a slight difference in Celica and corolla boxes

@@andrew1henderson1983 nope.. its hard to prove. watch my castle combe video and youll see it, watch others and they easily stay in lift.. I don't know where my gear set came from. I only have the mr2 6th gear and LSD (I use the mr2 casing the celica gearset was swapped into it)

@@DimoS... thanks.. Yeah it's mega on track. The engine is good for it as long as it has a baffled sump. I have done many 20min+ sessions on track in it 👍

Congratulations on the win Pete, thought I had you up until run 5. It was cazy wet out there on this run. I didn't bother going out. Your car looks so planted even in these conditions, I need to change my AR1's for A052's as I think these were the difference on the day once it started to dry for run 5. Good luck today 👌 I didn't bother as there was no way I was going quicker.
Yeah i really like the A052s, I really felt for aaron on the r888r's as i know what they are like in the wet

Yeah I'm not sure why. It's a gear set from a Celica 2zz. With MR2 6th. Not sure why 5th is an issue. It's one I need to sort. I didn't really want the 6th either it's just one that the gearbox guy fitted..n

@aliadean stock engine. But running an emu black ECU, which means can get rid of MAF and lambdas, so running open cone filter and wideband

Tweak to the track layout at Blyton? Kerbs look different, flatter maybe?
There have been a few tweaks. Tracks wider on corner exit going to track exit... They have got rid of the yellow on tower?(end of main straight) but track limit still in same place .. kerbs still same height I think not been there for couple years though...
Love this Pete, looks like you had great fun! Nice to see the MR2 being stretched after all the work you’ve put in. Engine sounds sweet 👌🏻. If you have a Gopro, did you set it to Spot Metering? If not, doing so might help with the view out of the windscreen not getting blown out and over-exposed 👍🏻
Hey buddy I normally set the focus for out the screen.. I just forgot.. it's pain in *** trying to set it up when ya can't see it ☺️ Had lots of fun in it yesterday
Looks good Pete. Plenty of Kerb Usage, and proper on it :D Still a few corners to be a tiny bit quicker, but that is the 'problem' with Sprint or Hillclimbs.... Ya don't get another 30 laps over a weekend to get each corner perfect! :D
Indeed I know there plenty places I feel I can make time up.. I was down two laps already due to clutch issues and still learning the car . Quicker each time I go out at the moment so definitely getting there..

No mate it's a 6 speed. Celica 2zz gearbox with mr2 lsd
@@Pistolspete82 just looking into this swap for mine and trying to work out if having the 6 speed with my lsd put in is worth the extra cash

I ran mine with a mr2 gearbox.. the gearing Is completely wrong.. ruins the whole swap.. make sure you fit the 2zz gearbox.. with the mr2 box you drop out of lift every gear change and you have to wait sooo long for lift.. you'll wish you just fitted the right box.. so basically.. yes pay for the box
