    Do you need new steering tie rods to put the Dana 60 into a ttb truck

    • @chewiethebrick
      @chewiethebrick Před 8 dny

      Yes! You'll need a set of 1 ton tie rods, I just got mine from NAPA nothing crazy fancy. They're the same from 1986-1997 for factory 4x4 1 tons

    What leaf springs did you use? I am doing the conversion now on my 89 F250 and looking for some recommendations. Thanks!

    • @chewiethebrick
      @chewiethebrick Před 7 měsíci

      I got factory f350 leafs from general spring, I've been very impressed with them so far, if you go that route I recommend changing out the rubber bushings for poly ones

    I just bought a 92 250 with the dana 60 already installed. How do i know if it has 250 leaf springs or 350? Rides pretty stiff. Thanks

    • @chewiethebrick
      @chewiethebrick Před 7 měsíci

      Hmmm, good question, if they're factory leafs there should be a stamp on them with a pound rating, if they're f250 springs they'll have a relatively high weight rating (this was to counter up and down travel and sway for the TTB) I believe the ones I got are rated for roughly 2200 pounds vs a stock f250 with about 3000-3200 pounds

    • @gwine2nine52

    So the original front driveshaft that was with the Dana 50 will work with the 60? I want to do this swap. Will all I need is the axle it’s self and the leafs?

    • @chewiethebrick
      @chewiethebrick Před 7 měsíci

      Yes that's the original driveshaft, all the shafts and ujoints are the same for the TTB's and SAS, I'd highly recommend checking out general spring for replacement 1 ton 4x4 leafs otherwise it'll have a some what rough ride

    A simple Great Video of the disassembly of a 1977 Ford Dana 60. I do believe that this is the first video showing this disassembly and a Great addition to the Ford community on how to begin restoration of your Dana 60 rear axle. Thanks for the well positioned camera angles. Subbed and Thumbed.

    I have a couple questions. Is the bolt pattern the same as 50ttb? Apart from the front axle itself what else did you need for that swap. I have 93 f250. I’m planning on swapping my axle in few weeks here.

    • @chewiethebrick
      @chewiethebrick Před rokem

      yes both the Dana 50 TTb and Dana 60 SFA are both 8x6.5 lug patterns. And in regards to what you need for the swap it depends upon what you want to do, I'm hoping to post a video some time this spring or summer on a front sway bar install as well for chewie and get his front end all finished up. If you wanna talk about it more in depth you can send me a DM on instagram @ChewieTheBrick
