What is the starting procedure for this engine?

How can you not be impressed and educated with all those magical pieces of Engineering .

Wait is it normal for it to do that arythmic choked sound? I'm not an expert in thingamajigs, doodads and gizmos but if I were to guess an engine should make a smoother uniform sound

And all we have done in the 103 years since this was built is to make engines more inefficient, right up to the point that some gobshite thought EV was the way to go...I do despair.

Multi-lobe, multipurpose camshaft, flying-ball governor, brass and glass oilers, huge flywheels, once a week power stroke, gentle rocking motions, quiet operation. My oil-tech cup runneth over.

we had one of these when i was a kid. loved the steam fairs. used to ride around the areana at netley marsh on a steam roller named black prince every year.

یه توربین بخار به هزارتا از این دیزل ژرناتورها ارزش داره،،اینا زمانی باب بود که هنوز اون ملخ های خوشکل توربین را بلد نبود تو پوستش با کمترین درصد اصحلاک بچرخونه وقتی توربینهای بخار و سیکل ترکیبی پا به میدان تولید نیرو کردند بشر درس گرفت موتور های دیزل در اثر بهم مالیده شدن قطعه در حقیقت چقدر بی فایده وتنها برای زمان کوتاهی کار میکند در حالی که توربین ها بعد از اتمام بالانس میتوانند بالای شصت سال بدون توقف برق تولید کنند وساده مختصر با کمترین اصطحلاک بازده بسیار بالاتری داشته باشند..

Hi Bob nice engine you got there, it looks strange with a single flywheel was it original like that? I love Rustons I do have about 13 Ruston engines. I do have a Ruston 2XHR engine brand new still boxed up in the original crate complete with spare parts and tools there are even two original Ruston tins of engine starters!! It dates from 1953!!!!!

Nice! I like the curve-spoke flywheels. The equivalent Gardner gas-engines of the turn of the century used curved spokes to try and stop shrink-cracking, but seem to have adopted straight spokes by 1916. Would this suggest the engine design is earlier than that?

Give it more fuel as its running weak thats why its not firing all the time.
