Thanks, you do really good work. Most of my childhood was spent wandering over the entire area including the old leper colony and abandoned WW 2 defence works on the Cape. One mystery that I still think about is a series of unmarked graves dating back to WW 2 which were located near the defence bunker system. Maybe these were the bodies of covert enemy operatives, anyway they "disappeared" once the golf course expanded. You missed only one of my fishing spots, the one that was accessed through a lane that ran off Prince Edward St, Malabar, between the then Housing Commission Homes. I also worked on Randwick Golf course as a casual and enjoyed watching the whales travelling north (this was before whale watching became popular).

Thanks I also fished and surfed there during 1960s. I did not know about the swimming ban. A lot of the pollution also came from grease trucks dumping fat in the drains which ended up floating on the beach. This is the beast video I have see of Yellow Rock which was an infamous rock fishing spot. We used to get huge sting-rays feeding on the sea urchins near the shallow part of the beach. These used to swim around from Botany Bay and would swim right under me sitting on my surf board.
