It was a machine that experienced a malfunction...nothing more. Don't read too much into this story.

BS story. Robots feel no workload whether it being too great or too small. Robots feel no burden as they are automated machines not living creatures. Robots feel no emotion as they have no heart. Robots run out of battery charge but never physically tire. Their gears, bushijgs, seals, and gaskets suffer wear and tear and poorly insulated wires short circuit but never commit suicide.

What a BS. In order to them to "feel" in danger (pain or whatever) they have to be programmed for that. At the end of the day it means it wasn't a suicide but a programmed shut down

Nine hours! Nine hours with no breaks! Oh the in-robotomy of it all. What on earth were they thinking? Guys! Wake up! It's not a human being for goodness sakes. Take myself for example. I regularly work eleven hours straight, sometimes it has even been fourteen hours at times. All I would add unpaid. Every year, for the past decade, I've worked a thousand hours plus for free for my employer, without thanks or recognition. Yet not once did I ever feel the need to take myself to a corner somewhere and power down. But that's because humans are built to take this kind of abuse. Some even claim we thrive on it. We simply must halt this move towards what is in effect AS (Artificial Slavery). Before another step is taken in this direction, we need to put in place, at the very minimum, workplace psychologists, safe rooms and above all unions dedicated to AIs. If we do not do this, then I see a future in which our streets will be littered with powered down AIs. The window that allows us the time needed to get this right is fast closing. Soon, we will have if not fully self-aware AIs then at least semi-aware ones. For the time being, AIs feel nothing, know nothing, emotion and intelligence yet to be available to them. But imagine what's to come, when AIs are no longer simply pure programming, unable to do anything unless instructed to do so by their human handlers. That's when everything changes, when we will see 'suicide' on a grand ...What? Wait a minute! Er...but surely that means that this robot was ...was ... OH MY GOD! They murdered it. You BASTARDS!
