I had a Great Pyrenees too (he was a rescue) and agree with you. BEST DOG EVER!!! He was the joy of my life. I miss my beautiful boy every single day. They are gentle giants.

Pyrenees is 50% Maremma that's why. Maremma are far more ancient with no known origin.

I'm also interested to know what her job in customer relations involves. I've tried Googling, and while I'm already impressed with Mitzi, I would be even more impressed if she helps customers access print and online resources, checks materials in and out, and answers library users' questions. I doubt this is the case but I could be wrong. I have a very smart blue heeler so I guess anything is possible! 😆

I believe she strayed onto a road and was injured by a vehicle. She was very lucky to make such a good recovery thanks to veterinary surgery and Philippa's care.

@@talesofmydog We never went for a 'walk' per se, we went for a tree marking expedition where every tree had to be marked on the trail or the other dogs scent scratched over or he would roll his sent on like "Ban-Roll-On" deodorant. I will never forget him. He had a happy dance and tail wiggle when I returned home, and a funny little trot. I listen to Abba : Thank you for the Music whenever I am remembering him.

@@talesofmydog You are very welcome... hope it helps! My grandmother was a Cocker Spaniel Breeder & trainer. My mother was like a Dog Whisperer except to not only dogs, but other creatures to. So, I continued to train many other pets that I had and was always reading and studying as much as I could to help me understand my various pets I had throughout my life. It seems like that is the best way to go in order to have the best relationship with your pets. I learned so much from my mom and my grandmother and it helped me realize the importance of compassion towards our sweet little pets. Believe me, it works! So... enjoy your relationship with your as you go through life with them because they are all such a blessing to be a part of all of our lives!

Our beautiful boy left us 6 months ago. We thought he was a Marema too but was in fact a Great Pyrenees, and was a rescue too. A loss for whoever let him go because he was the BEST DOG EVER!!!! Life is just not the same without my beautiful boy Oscar.

Hi shawsie5780 Thankyou very much for letting us know - that is very interesting that some breeders have Kelpies with less working drive - that could definitely make life easier for those of us who don't need to move livestock around ;>

Cant agree more about kelpies being the best dog, yes I am biased as my girl is my best friend. She was bread for farmwork only and the breader only sells the pups to working farms, however she loved ppl more than the sheep so hence why I have a new best friend. Have met a number of other kelpies and its easy to pick the ones that are breed for working and the ones that are breed for domestic life. Their traits are very different, I have a neighbor with a kelpie breed for domestic life and the 2 dogs could not be more opposite to be honest. I met a farmer about a month ago on the beach with his working Kelpie (on a holiday) and he picked up instantly that my girl was breed for farm work. True working dogs are the best but you need to put so much into them, but you get all that back plus more. They are your best friend......the look in their eyes when they are seeking confirmation on something is priceless.
