    As in all the scriptures that scared me long ago, if one asks God what does this mean, then quietly expect an answer as you ponder and revisit, you will get an answer that isn’t what you initially thought but one that soothes the soul and make you to know, nothing will snatch you from his hands and he will never leave you or forsake you. It’s even better than this but poor translations here and there make things sometimes look worse than they are.

    What most people don't seem to get or want to accept, is there is no hell in the Bible from Genesis to revelation, hell in the King James version, is not even a translation, just a plain out substitution, for any word to be translated it must have been in the original to start with, and there is no hell in the true Hebrew or Greek scriptures from cover to cover, period!! Jesus never said it and his apostles never taught it,! Hell came to Us by the way of the Latin Vulgate, and even the new Catholic Bible doesn't teach it anymore because it was never in the scripture to start with!

I’m not one for debates or watching them but I would love to see Andrew debate someone like William Lane Craig or Frank Turek so all of the atheists that follow them can see they were half right in rejecting their kind of Christianity but wrong in rejecting Christ because of it as if they have the only say in what Christianity is. What on earth is this junk? We all existed in the 1st earth age or world age before the foundation of this world meaning since before the overthrow of Satan during his rebellion, we are in this flesh age for God to see who loves Him and who doesn't and when satan returns He will see who has studied God's Word and who hasn't, instead of listening to this junk, we have always existed since God created our souls. When the true Christ returns will begin the Lord's Day, then at the end of that people will have 1 final decision to whom they will follow, they will either live forever or be blotted out, not some literal hell that doesn't exist, the eternal Heaven will be here on earth, we've found angelic footprints in New Mexico dating back 10 million years. I’m honestly rather disappointed he takes such a philosophically inept view. You don’t need open theism for universalism to be true. Many ppl say that because of the interpretation that if God knows literally everything including the future, then we can’t have free will, (as the Calvinists would argue). This is a ridiculous argument to me, let me put it this way, imagine I set up a challenge in a video game, (let’s use Minecraft for example due to how much freedom it has). And I tell ppl, in order to win say 20 bucks, you need to beat the game, however take your time and play it how you want, just bare in mind you’ll get an extra reward when you complete the game. That player if you know anything about this game, has literally a tremendous amount of freedom and can build, break, and create anything they wish. But as anyone who play games understands, they will want to achieve as many things as they can so beating Minecraft is certainly on that list. I can have knowledge that eventually they will do this at some point, and know that they will have the freedom to do whatever they like via their own agency. When you really sit down and think about it, the notion that foreknowledge and free will are at odds makes zero sense to me. You need to make a case from a direct cause and effect that they are that interlinked, I see no evidence

    Thomas Jay Oord is not only a great theologian but also (and perhaps primarily) a great mystic. Let's not be afraid of this term. Anyone who derives their theology not from intellectual speculation but from love is, deep down, a mystic. As John writes: "whoever loves (...) knows God," (1 John 4:7) knows Him in a mystical way. And although I know that TJO would probably be embarrassed if he heard that he is a mystic (or maybe not?), I cannot resist such an impression, especially after becoming acquainted with his writings.

  • @DanielFernandez-jv7jx

    The claims of Christian Universalism are very convincing when we confine ourselves to scripture alone for our source and defense. However, does it work as well when we confront the teachings of the apostolic fathers? One excellent point made by Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox theologians and historians is that the Scriptures themselves come out of the oral tradition of the church. The oral tradition of the church preceded the written records as we can see from St. Paul’s own words. Can we read Saint Clement of Rome or Saint Ignatius of Antioch, Irenaeus, Justin Martyr or any of the anti-Nicene fathers, or the earliest writings of the church such as the Didache or the Shepherd of Hermas and still keep our universalist theology intact? For some reasons that are too lengthy to go into here, the various Protestant schools have decided to ignore any aspects or translations of these early fathers that sound too Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox, such as the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. But for more than a thousand years, Christendom was united by means of using those apostolic fathers and the early traditions of the church to understand the scriptures. Sola Scriptura was a novel idea invented by Luther that has resulted in tens of thousands of Protestant splinter groups, grievously dividing the Body of Christ. So, it seems to me, as someone who loves and respects the early church fathers and the early sacramental theology and liturgies of the church, that unless Universalism can honestly and with depth address these traditions so as to show us that they are compatible with Universalism, then Christian Universalism must be DOA. After all, are we to imagine that the first and second generation of the churches’ bishops, like Clement of Rome who was ordained by Peter himself, and Ignatius of Antioch, who was ordained by John, were in error in their teachings? Am I to believe you or them?

    Thanks in _very_ large part to Robin Parry's masterful and comprehensive editing and annotating of Thomas Allin's _Christ Triumphant,_ I've been able to compile this list of a dozen church father quotes. I often post it in the comments sections of various you-tube videos related to Christian views of the afterlife, most of which posit eternal conscious torment. The related scriptures shown in brackets were added by me: Most leading early church fathers were Christian universalists: "Christ saves all men. Some he converts by penalties, others who follow Him of their own will ... that every knee may be bent to Him, of those in heaven, on earth, and under the earth" [Isa. 45:22-23, Rom. 14:11, Phil. 2:10-11, Rev. 5:13] -- *Clement of Alexandria,* _Commentary on 1 John_ "When death shall no longer exist, nor the sting of death, nor any evil at all, then, verily, God will be All in all" [1 Cor. 15:28,55] -- *Origen,* _De Principiis 3:6.3_ "What else does 'until the times of universal restoration' signify to us, if not the aeon to come, in which all beings must receive their perfect restoration?" [Acts 3:21] -- *Eusebius,* leading historian of the early church, _Contra Marcellum __2:4:11_ "A few drops of blood renew the whole world, and become for all men that which rennet is for milk, uniting and drawing us into one." [Col. 1:15-20] -- *Gregory Nazianzus,* _Oration 42_ "Christ captured over again the souls captured by the devil, for that He promised in saying, 'I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto Me.'" [John 12:32, 1 Peter 3:19-20, 4:6, Psalm 68:18, Eph. 4:8-10, and maybe Matt. 12:29] -- *Athanasius,* _Expositions on the Psalms, 68.18_ "The peace [coming] from the Lord is coextensive with all time [eternity]. For all things shall be subject to him, and all things shall acknowledge his empire; and when God shall be all in all, those who now excite discords by revolts, having been quite pacified, [all things] shall praise God in peaceful concord." [Psalm 145:10a, 1 Cor. 15:28, Rev. 5:13] -- *Basil,* _Commentary on Isaiah 9:6_ "So the Son of Man came to save that which was lost, i.e., all, for as in Adam all die, so, too, in Christ shall all be made alive." [Luke 19:10, 1 Cor. 15:22] -- *Ambrose,* _Exposition on the Gospel of Luke 15.3_ "For the wicked there are punishments not perpetual, ... but they are to be tormented for a certain brief period, according to the amount of malice in their works. They shall therefore suffer punishment for a short space, but immortal blessedness, having no end, awaits them; ... the penalties to be inflicted for their many and grave crimes are very far surpassed by the magnitude of the mercy to be showed them. The resurrection, therefore, is regarded as a blessing, not only to the good, but also to the evil." [Isa. 57:16], *Diodore,* _De Oecon_ "Some among the wise and learned … have alluded to this in an enigmatic way, by adducing that God is not only just, but also merciful, and that it becomes the One who judges with justice to have sinners suffer in a measure that is proportional to their sins and then make them worthy of blessedness." -- *Theodore,* _Liber Scholiorum, 2:63_ "'All the kings of the earth shall adore him.' Some, indeed, in the present life willingly, but all the rest after the Resurrection; for not yet do we see all things subject to him, but then every knee shall bow to him." [The "kings of the earth" are rebellious unbelievers in Rev. 6:15, 17:2,18, 18:3,9, 19:19,21 ... but check out what happens in Rev. 21:24-27!] -- *Theodoret,* _On Psalm 72:11_ "Death shall come as a visitor to the impious; it will not be perpetual; it will not annihilate them; but will prolong its visit, till the impiety which is in them shall be consumed." [Matt. 5:26] -- *Jerome,* _On Micah 5:8_ "After the complete abolition of sin, praise shall be sung to God; which praise contain (implies) our being incapable of turning to sin ... when every created being shall be harmonized into one choir ... and when, like a cymbal, the reasonable creation, and that which is now severed by sin ... shall pour forth a pleasing strain, due to mutual harmony. Then comes the praise of every spirit for ever abounding with increase unto eternity." [Psalm 150] -- *Gregory of Nyssa,* _On Psalms, Tract 1, ch. 9_ Other church fathers who believed in eventual universal salvation include *Asterius, Bardaisan, Cyril of Alexandria, Didymus the Blind, Dionysius, Ephrem the Syrian, Gennadius, Hilary, John Cassian, John Chrysostom, Marcellus, Maximus the Confessor, Maximus of Turin, Methodius, Paulinus, Proclus, Titus of Basra & Victorinus.* Sources: Thomas Allin, _Christ Triumphant,_ Annotated by Robin Parry edition, chapters 4-5, 1905 & Ilaria Ramelli, _A Larger Hope?, Volume 1: Universal Salvation from Christian Beginnings to Julian of Norwich,_ 2019

    I was hoping you would mention the passage in Rom2 where Paul describes the nature of the true Jew who is not outwardly circumcised by human hands but circumcised inwardly, of the heart. As a witness... those who swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness (See Isa48:1,2) are of the synagogue of Satan. These include those who confess Jesus as their Lord and Saviour but teach the endless misery and suffering of the majority of people. They reject the writings of Moses as a template for the salvation of all in three stages. Christ the firstfruits, then those who are Christ's at his coming, then comes the consummation.

    Greetings everyone, Grace and Peace to you all in Jesus Name... As a statement of transparency, at the time of watching this video (July 13th 2024) I read through all the comments....they are divided (not necessarily divisive just DIVIDED). This I find important because Jesus not only taught total restoration and reconciliation (commonly referred to as Universal Restoration/Salvation), He taught about unity and peace. It is still a mystery to mankind that Jesus taught about His body....what you would call in your physical paradigm..."literally about His body" This mystery still inhibits and veils ones understanding and acceptance that we are one body many parts...this Paul speaks about in Ephesians 5 when he asks...."who ever hated his own flesh".... Even our understanding or rather willingness to learn new things (or to unlearn old lies) stops us from having a deeper understanding of God in us....like who is Satan. Do you externalise him, like he is something or someone outside of you derailing you... The woman sharing here is just sharing....do not be offended (Jesus words not mine) but rather discern through the Spirit. If you believe that Jesus is saviour of all mankind (that is in Universal Restoration) then you must also believe He is saviour to the men He was speaking to in John 8 when He tells them your father is the devil. Do you really think their father is the devil....what is Jesus telling them. "Get behind me Satan" is exactly what Jesus is reported to have said to Peter....not to Satan....to Peter. He called him Satan.... When the flesh is not brought under subjection to the Spirit, it will seek to establish its own Kingdoms, one it can see, touch and ultimately control and own....you cannot serve two masters. There is more wisdom in her words even if she didn't realise it when she said them.... Judge no one according to the flesh (just like Jesus) and be led by the Spirit.... God is all and in all....ALWAYS YOU'RE EYE IS THE LAMP.... Blessings ❤🫂❤

      Do not confuse Christ, that heartfelt knowing that this life is all there is since time began...with Christianity as an institutional religion. You have the rest of this life to experience what Paul experienced on the road to Damascus. May it be sooner than later for experiencing it there comes a peace and rest which this world can't give you.

    I’d allways wondered why no one ever preached on those scriptures with the word ALL in them, then I learned that apostle Paul was sent to the gentiles so I started reading his epistles more and that opened up more light, then when I saw a video how the KJB was put together I realized how many many poor to bad translations were used in that Bible and how they deviated quite a bit from original manuscripts , I realized key areas were compromised. I’d allways thought the KJV was perfect and the best, not so. Universalism corresponds to Gods true character and majesty, all other doctrines and translations portray a bipolar, pyscopath god who loves to torture people.

  • @bw2442
    @bw2442 Před 10 dny

    If you look closely every place where eternal torment is found , it due to wrong translation, or out of context. If you serve God because you fear hell, then you have a wrong concept of who God is. If you knew who he was correctly you’d run to him everyday out of love.

    Not having to go to hell, hell not being a real thing, eternal punishment not being real. You’d think hearing this was just pagan doctrine would be exciting and joyous to Christian’s but when I have tried to explain and show this I get either disinterest or abuse. Kinda like I’m trying to steal their favorite teddy bear.

    Thank you for the videos you put out. I became a Christian 6 years ago and came to understand Jesus will ultimately save us all 1-2 years ago now, in good part to reading the bible, praying and thinking about God, watching videos like what you and some others have made to help think about other perspectives I hadn't encountered. While I still don't know anyone around me who also believes this, I live my life for Jesus and go to sleep every night knowing that He truly is above all :) Thankyou - your videos help :)

      Greetings my beloved, And wow... Chronologically at least you and I share a similar story. Raised in a Greek Orthodox Religious home for the first 20 or so years of my life. Indifferent about religion for the next 30 years. At 51 after the faithful 10 year fellowship of one man who would not so much as evangelise but rather just love me as I was (and I was going through traumatic change in my life).....and at 51 I heard the voice of God in my heart call me. I am 57 now and whilst I began to read scripture one year after my encounter, it was not until about one year ago when the overwhelming love of God convinced me in my heart of hearts that God is Father of all forever.... I truly believe that the way we see God, shapes not only how we believe God sees us but how we see others. My love of Jesus has not diminished at all but grown infinitely and my love and patience for others has also grown infinitely.... The hardest part in this body is to live with others whilst knowing I cannot give this revelation to them... I can believe and then live my life according to my belief....God is all and in all....ALWAYS. Blessings ❤🫂❤

    That is how it is supposed to be. Jesus wanted followers of Himself, emulators of His character, not members of an institution who all know how to genuflect at the appropriate time.
