man i do all this work and my rear break still feel softy, there is no buble when i bleed and still cant get it to work

Thanks for the effort in making this video. You wont believe how difficult it was to a video that represented my particular brake system. All the tutorials i watched were not thorough enough. Fortunately now i know what to do. For those who don't know, before you start you need ALL the right replacement parts and additional tools. If your brake cable is damaged or cut expect to pay well above 100eu for everything you will need from new cable to the correct cutting tool to the olive set and accompanying tool, to various other tools such as the right sized spanner and allen keys and bleeding kit. With all that the removal of the old cable and replacement with the new cable can take under an hour and you have to be careful as the mineral oil can easily make a mess. I left the bleeding for another day because i wasn't quite sure what to do there until i watched this video.

I am disappointed because I bought the largest set and I cannot bleed the SRAM DB8 brakes. Your set includes only one threaded fitting and one quick connector, and the db8 needs two threaded ones, there is no quick connector in DB8. The quality is excellent, but the set is useless without the second connector :(

I just flushed the fluid in both my little twin cousins bikes/ ktm's but I'm 2nd guessing myself now because the fluid came out super cloudy & looking like oil mixed with water. I used the recommended Castrol dot 4 break fluid which it said to use in both breaks & the clutch it has dot 4 or dot 5.1 recommend in the manuals & on the resivours but it's making me wonder if someone has used mineral oil instead of the specified dot 4 or dot 5.1do you know how I can tell what was in it? Is it normal for the fluid to get super cloudy over 3 years of not being changed?? The breaks & clutches are both Brembo's

mineral oils are just alkanes. Basic organic compounds. Non corrosive. The longer the molecule chain, the higher the boiling point. Shorter the chain, the lower the freezing point. So a good mix of long chain and short chain alkanes will give a good working temperature range suitable for bicycle hydraulic brake. Same with viscosity. Higher chain alkanes have higher viscosity. In my opinion, both Magura and Shimano found a suitable mix of alkanes that exhibit good working temperature range and viscosity range. They are chemically almost inert to rubber seals and aluminums. Either should work.

What is good replacement for M355 hydralic brakes as of today that would fit? Good video, thanks. Bled a few times but not gripping power. Rotor thickness is good, maybe I just better quality brakes - I am not using Shimano bakes. Front are doing well.

I have my doubts about this presentation. This video was released 6 years ago, I hope that now you have acquired more experience. Minute 3:07 you are pushing around 10cm of pure air just because you didn't push the air out of the syringe BEFORE connecting it to the brake system ij consequence in the minute 3:41 you see how much AIR is coming out. Maybe this was made on purpose to show WHY we should purgue air away BUT if the procedure would have been well done thenn would have not been neccesary to do it that way. Thank you for sharing.

What is the m6 joint that attatches syringe to brake?

I ended up here in 2023, with a SRAM RS Guide that was not part of the 'affected' series having the stuck lever piston. 2 high points measured 9.55 and 9.50 vs 9.40. Took them down to 9.42. I was less patient and used 340 grit for the first reduction, then 1000 grit to finish, finally using wet 1000 grit emery paper to polish. Love the use of the drill as a mini lathe. Very good idea.
