The so called choke If I remember correctly it is used for cold starting only, it makes it so more air can flow inside and makes it easier to start the engine. Once the engine runs however you should turn it off
@@leon.brocki 1st I thought I could be for the gear change, but after that, I took a look at some old "B.M.W." motorcycles and seen it was for another thing. Anyway, thank you. Later motorcycles dind't had this option.
THIS ADJUSTS THE IGNITION TIMING. Starting at a later position, also slower going uphill. Fast driving fruh = more power. This moves the breakaway hammer to the ignition. If I don't do this, the starter handle can kick hard or I won't start at all.

The insignia in the helmet is still inaccurate. The shield and SS symbols were never worn simultaneously.
@@elbumer3904 I think for the Waffen SS it would've been the SS shield and the Nazi Party shield, not the tricolor.

Ss decal is on wrong side of the helmet.
@norge yes it is you can see the ss runes. Ss helmets usually would only have 1 decal being the ss runes on the right side and nothing else. Heer helmet (early models) would have the eagle with swastika on the left side, and the tri color on the right. This helmet seems to be replica or restoration with wrong decals on it.
