Greetings I am in the process of purchasing the Tremec TKX Manual Transmission for my Ford Mustang 1992 LX with an LS swap Engine . I have noticed that there are two types of TKX Transmissions available GM or Ford. I want to make sure I choose the right one that does not require cutting the floor for installation. Additionally, I have seen that there is an LS bellhousing option. Could you please advise me on which specific type I should purchase for my vehicle? GM or Ford ?
Hello, please call us at 208-453-9800 we would be happy to help you answer any questions you have
We have 2 TKX transmission, had no luck with them. First gear seems weak. Both had broken gears, 1 was in a 1969 firebird the other a 1994 mustang.
This is concerning, please call us at 208-453-9800 and we would be happy to help you with these challenges.
Do you have a website of phone number where i can email you guys or call you
Will the TKX fit in GMH ! General Motors Holden 1968 -1972 Holden monaro or the South Africacan Chevrolet ss thank you
can you get a corvette style one of these? c5/6
Hey Thanks for watching and the question regarding vetts, The C5 & C6 corvettes are transaxle cars and we do not have parts to support those.
Will this kit work on a coyote swapped new edge ?
No it is specifically engineered to work with the SN95 Mustang
I don't see why it wouldn't. Unless there's clearance issues with the Scram pedal assembly if you're using the Coyotes electronic throttle pedal. I am considering this very same upgrade.
I want a 5 speed with a .5 or .4 overdrive like the TR6070
Call us and discuss your build to see what we might help you with 208-453-9800
Do you top off the reservoir before using the syringe or will one syringe fill the system from dry?
Hello Don, One syringe holds enough to fill it twice, we do this to ensure all of the air bubbles are pushed out. so no need to pre-fill the reservoir.
🤥
Nicely demonstrated Paul.
just had to do that to the one i recieved, i cant really see how shipping can cause that, if it was slammed down that hard it would break something, anyway the video just saved it from being shipped back.
Hey Brian, we appreciate your business and we try to provide quick solutions through our videos for those type of challenges, glad it worked for you, we are always posting tech videos to help out our customers and remember we're always herre for you if you have any questions.

Out of curiosity why is the console clock second hand sweep running backwards? Strange!
Do you have a kit for the flathead Ford 6's?

nice!

very nice breakdown. thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Very original you guys are impressive
great footage and beautiful morning
Many thanks!
waiting on next one📍
John, you did a beautiful build on that Mustang; it looks fantastic, and must be a blast to drive. Your reference and recommendation of MDL in partnership on the driveline installation is confidence inspiring; and I look forward to partnering with them on my '67 coupe "mild" driver set up.
What brake booster did you use?
Factory brake booster like Bendex or Midland.
Where is the video
The owner of the car passed away shortly have the video was started. He never got a change to drive the car.
why didnt you dial in the bell?
Nice
Thank you James for your excellent work!! Also thank you modern driveline for having this in stock and shipping it the day after we ordered it.
You are very welcome.
Does this work with models with a vacuum booster? I feel it's more common to engine swap v6 vehicles and we just happen to have the vacuum operated booster
Yes is works with all know vacuum SN95 brake boosters as well has the hydro boost.
I noticed a Nut at the top that drives the Piston Shaft to the Master Cylinder. Is this adjustable for making fine adjustments on the clutch peddle? I have this system for my SN95 and my clutch engages to quickly from the floor coming out. Want the clutch to engage a little further out with the peddle. Will adjusting the top Nut at the Piston do this? Can it be screwed in or out for micro adjustments to the peddle feel? Adjusting the shaft length?
the push rod nut you are referring to is adjusted to fixed number of 1.4" Changing this will only decrease the push rod travel which in turn lower the clutch pedal engagement closer to the floor. Clutch engagement is a factory of the clutch pressure plate and disk. Some clutches released fast some are slower. If you are using our external slave cylinder, the fork should traveling ~1.2" Internal HRB is about 7/16" Always good to check the condition of the cross shaft and pivot bushings.
@@brucecouture9974 Bruce, I had an issue with the assembly working fine for about 2 weeks. Then suddenly the car wouldn't go into gear. I just bled the fluid again and now it barely goes into gear but some adjustment is needed to make the shifting smoother and not bind. Anything you think I should check or is this a "set it and forget it" setup? Didn't know if there was a way to make small adjustments. I still can't get the car in reverse but 1st through 6th goes into gear but binds. Still difficult to put into gear. I don't know where to start to look for the issue. I may buy a completely new unit and re-install. I just can't figure out why it was workin perfectly for 2 weeks and then after driving down the road it left me stranded because it suddenly wouldn't go into gear. I've checked everything and nothing is leaking or showing any wear.
I need a 7 overdrive gear speed to save gas
im using a 2014 C7 TR6070 in a charger but im warning you yes it's really similar to the magnum/TR6060 transmission's but the mid-plate is best to change it ( yes the vett mid-plate could work with a throw-out-bearing but it requires fabrication ect. so it's a time suck ) ( in my case 2016 hellcat/TR6060 ) and you will need the 4X4 adaptation plate from transla gorge sells and or welding a dummy tail ( magnum or turbo-400 would work ) for a 30-spline yoke my OEM 1970 727-automatic drive shaft technically fit and would have worked, i have others things iv learn about this swap but im keeping the comment short now yes i know 5+people aka a lot that have asked me about how to copycat me and or asking tremic and its dealership's to introduce a product line of 7-speed's conventional and or DCT ( thank you 👍 bruce in person for offering the mustang-DCT as a geny-pig but i can't tune it aka i suck at computer's, so that's why i mainly passed on the opportunity )
Its been over a year???
All around solid - sounds like a true pleasure to drive.
Checked out all the vids. Very good info-Well done ! I hope to finally get mine this coming week for my C4 vette to get rid of the Doug Nash OD unit.
I've watched the whole series and I'm glad that this information is easily available. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. We wanted the video to provide as much information as possible. Unlike the TV that just gloss over so many details due to time.
@@brucecouture9974 thank you for that! I am putting a tkx in my c10 and this was very informative and useful!
Man, I need to get me a TKX now!
Steve, congrats on the win! what is your full combo? I have an 86 foxbody 5 speed also, i just built a 347 and trapped first time out 123.5 , new engine, clutch and rear coilovers, so I have a lot of chassis, and engine tuning, break in etc to go also!
Hey there, nice time with that 347, my setup is as follows: Dart block 363 10.5 compression TFS 195 cc heads CNC ported by Total Engine Airflow Custom grind HYD cam with solid roller lifters Ford Racing single plane intake(Vic Jr) mild ported with Brawler 750 carb 1 ¾ long tube headers with custom 3” exhaust with X pipe. TKX transmission 2.87 first gear Ace racing Twin disc organic clutch 8.8 rear with 4.10 gears, Detroit locker and 31 spline axles Tubular lower arms with adjustable uppers with spherical bearings in uppers Strange adjustable rear shocks and stock 86 GT springs Tubular K member and A arms with coil overs and Lakewood 90/10 struts. Hope you're having as much fun as I am at the track this year, take care. Steve.
@@ModernDrivelineInc Thanks Steve! yes we will be back at the track in a couple weeks for next Test and tune. are your trickflow heads 195cc before porting or after?
@@vrm86gt before was before portingI did send them to Total Engine Airflow for a little work :)
@@ModernDrivelineIncnice, i know TEA does good work
So u kinda skipped it but im assuming u just kinda slide the input shaft threw the throw out bearing first and made sure the rotation pin was inserted then slid it threw the clutch? Just asking cause ima install it while laying down without a lift so wanted to make sure it all goes smoothly...lol.
That is correct. just slide on the input shaft and pin. Make sure to shorten the pin to clear the pressure plate.
@@brucecouture9974 thank u Bruce. One last question...I have the engine out...I'd assume it would just be easier to assemble the bellhouseing to the trans as one assembly... then mount to engine? I just don't want the dowels to move after getting it aligned and taking bell housing back off
ᵖʳᵒᵐᵒˢᵐ
where do I buy it?
