Seal Renewal on a Showa BPF Fork and Fabricating a Tool | A Day in the Life
In this video, I overhaul a set of Big Piston Forks from Showa. The seal on the right side was leaking after being replaced and the customer also wanted the oil weight changed as per his conditions.

Monster 696 Charging System Overhaul!! - A Day in the Life
zhlédnutí 141Před měsícem
This customer stated that he replaced the battery but would still run flat. Easy diagnosis, the stator coil was shorting internally and needed to be swapped out. The customer also approved to have his oil and filter renewed while his bike is in the shop. The customer opted for OEM parts. As Ducati only sell the rotor assembly with the stator, I swapped that out too. I recommended to overhaul th...

What tech is the voice?
I used to use a voice over app called speechify but i dont use it anymore.
Wish the clutch cables go underneath the handle bars like that on rhino's
Its been routed underneath since uploading. 👍👍
Nice work. Is it common for the stater and the regulator to go at the same time, or was this an upgrade? Thanks.
Regulator was dead on this bike and stator wasn’t producing enough AC voltage in this case. A failed stator can cause a regulator to fail so i usually swap both out.
Thanks for the insights. I got also hyperpro suspension on my Ktm 390 Adventure and it works amazing
They are really worth the coin!
Bloody LEGEND Chris, great video buddy. Thanks for an incredible job
Thanks Rob!
I'm interested in the front suspension.cost&how long to install.again great content , keep it coming.bulldog.
Not sure how much the gear cost, customer provided it. It’s about 3 hours labour to install.
G'day,I'm thinking that clutch cable still looks short by about 2in.good job installing the bars.nice&neat.brisbane.australia.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll check in with Rob and see how she is going. Always happy to swap it out.
Just needs hammer 90 inch build and it'll be just right
I tried to sell the customer a hammer 1250cc kit haha
The clutch cable still looks too short
We all could use an extra inch or two 🤔 It seems to work fine as is, always happy to swap it out when we see Rob again if it plays up.
Good vid. I just picked up a SV650X and looking at doing the suspension.
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
SPORTSTER4LIFE
Super nice!
Thank you Randy!
After seeing this guy work on a bike and hearing him "explain" springs I wouldn't let him near my SV650.
Appreciate the feedback, not the right video if you want detailed suspension lesson. Not sure whats wrong with the work though?
You don't understand what it takes to make a video and then develop an opinion like your comment. I found the video is pretty good in the gist on suspension choice and how to go about the basics.
@@paz2wheels I can give you motorcycle suspension lessons if you want to. My current hourly rate is € 215. Regarding your work you should read the service manual. Knowledge of the SV650 makes the work a lot faster and you are less likely to damage the bike. I guess many garages in Australia work in the same way that you do. In Europe we are spoiled with SV650 suspension specialists.
@fuglbird no thanks, I can think of better things to spend my money on. That hilarious, people actually specialise in SV650’s in Europe!? Mate it’s about as complicated as lego, are these specialists toddlers? I can rebuild these engines blindfolded. We don’t specialise in these things in Oz cause we can do everything here. But Europe is a continent in decline so that does not surprise me that you need specialists for something simple like this. Thanks for the kind words and good luck with the lessons.
I had been looking out your garage window and thinking that looks like Australia and even Sydney park where zen isolated!
We’re right opposite Sydney park at 200 Euston rd Alexandria. Good spot.
Hermosa Moto, buen trabajo de mantenimiento
WOW!! Amazing job...
Thank you!
Ive seen people put the tight coiled end on the top
You can in some set up for sure.
Going to remove my fork covers on my 2017 Fxsb breakout to get them polished is it the same procedure?
More or less its the same. You’ll probably have a standard fork cap unlike the bike in this one. Good luck
@@paz2wheels do I have to press the caps back on the ones you knocked out with the chisel
Yes you have to do that too.
@@paz2wheels how did you do that exactly with them still on the bike without scratching them?
I used the blunt side of my fork seal driver. Its made out of brass so is a softer metal. Just lightly tap them. You can see me do it in the video.
This vid is amazing! 🤙Even more so, is all the work you did on my Dyna! You absolutely nailed it man. Ride level just went up a major notch 👌 Cheers bro.
Thanks dude 🙏
I want a video as well now Beno! 😅🤙
Just get in touch mate ✌️
Dude! That was crazy! Nothing like broken fasteners inside of the sump. I was hoping that the Easy Out Extractor wouldn’t break off. Good thing you used the heat and penetrating oil.
Thanks dude, all mechanics know the pain. The heat makes a big difference.
Dumbest engine design I ever seen….Italian engineering at its best.
The best you could say is ‘interesting’ i think 🤔😂
0:53 Hyperpro is actually Dutch, not from the UK
You are correct. Their wiki indicated they have head office in the UK which threw me off.
I got some new insight of how to change oil in the forks, Thanks! I believe that Hyperpro wants you to install the springs differently, with the tighter part up, as in there kit, for my DL 650.
Depends of the kit and model. Generally for conventional forks the tight coil is at the bottom.
Clean vid with good narration 🙌🏻
Appreciate it! Cheers
How much for the paint job?
It was handled privately between the client and painter, but I believe around $5000 aussie dollars. Total 36 paint and clear coat layers.
Cool
Italians know their stuff and can ride on dood. Thanks for info
Nice shirt TcBros are awsome folks , great series on this build .
😩 Promo_SM
At least you didnt get your teeth knocked out😂
‘Yes it is’ haha😅
Good catch … I think.? Long live safety goggles. 😂
Five minutes into a 15 minute video and he’s still talking! Plus rubbish music (?)……
I love you?... Dave
Enjoyed watching the precision work.
Dude! You dropped a 128 cube kit in? Hectic donk! 😅
Digging the bar and riser set up man! 👌
So I guess you won’t be riding your bike this week?
great video awesome content beautiful machines at the show your video has earned my subscription ride safe

This is awesome mate. I'll be sure to add a link when I next show the bike. It's crazy to see how much work goes into these builds!
Impressive workmanship. Congrats.
An amazing job. I want a visit from the owner of the Harley bike. Best motorcycle workshop ever! Done with care and passion.
