Whatever happened to travel vlogs with the GTI? No more episodes??

⁠ hi I’ve seen concerns where Thule recommends NOT using a RTT with the clamp style rack on “naked roofs” since the pressure is applied to the painted body rather than structural frame like standard racks. In your experience do you think these are safe to use despite the manufacturer warning? I want to use the Thule foothill on my polestar 2 with OEM clamp style roof bars but I am worried about damage since these bars are not officially recommended for RTT on naked roof. Your reassurance or advice from experience would be greatly helpful. I am hearing they are technically NOT SAFE. but practically, it seems like it was safe for your use and abuse.

What were the car troubles you had?

Nice setup, but isnt the roof weight limit 75kg? How is the car handle the weight?

interesting wheel/tyre combo, must be a lot nicer on the rougher roads or unsealed areas

I love roads like that. I have a modern VW Beetle and just last week for my birthday I went on a little trip to Santa Monica and took some back roads to test my beetle's handling for the first time since I've upgraded my suspension with some coilovers, stage III front end upgrade, and some H&R front and rear sway-bars. The car handled like it's on rails. So much fun to drive and gave my car so much confidence it can go even faster on the turns plus the view was amazing. I took that same road in my Camry and it felt kinda sketchy. Anyways cool trip I'm planning on doing a road trip myself to Vancouver which is a city I've been wanted to visit for a long time now. Cool video and I might get myself a GTI after this.

Just bought a gti as my first car, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do they things I like with it like camping fishing snowboarding but the more I see the more I’m proven wrong. I’ll be watching the rest of this series now lol great work man!

The Nipigon Bridge was closed in November of 2016, When a winter storm caused the deck to rise two feet, I guess the cables shrank in length and pulled it up. Great series by the way! I love seeing northern Ontario!

Hey man, I’ve been looking at making my mk7 into camper, questions, is the car lowered and if so whats the suspension system? Was it comfortable for gravel and rough roads? Also whats the roof rack you used to support the tent?
