Have the expats and tourists returned after the plandemic? So many of those ex military have crossed over and left a demographic hole in the makeup of the local population there. Always been a real lack of apartment and condos there anyway...

After spending years all around the philippines and even though i have a house in olongapo only because its my wifes hometown, i dont see any reason to develop baloy and baretto, other than sex tourism, its too polluted from shit river and the smaller streams for beach use and the noise pollution is horrible. camayan cove is the only place we go that we think the water is clean enough to swim.There are much nicer places all around the philippines. Im kinda suprised that you have stayed there so long john.

The hospital having a resto is not all that unusual from a westerner's viewpoint imo. Hospitals in OZ at least have cafeterias for staff visitors and patients. We know Filipinos have family bring them food in hospital, because they don't get much other than water and basics as a patient. So it could be one of the busier eating joints with a captive (sometimes literally) clientele.

Are you military retired and using Tricare or Tricare for Life? Also on BayPointe I have found a lot of negative on that hospital. That includes several Filipino news reports on them. How comfortable are you with BayPointe on SMBA. Thanks in advance.

Beer Garden was smart putting that big sign up perpendicular to the street, so it can be seen from Reef Resort. I can't believe I waited to so long to eat at Jewel. Probably because its sort of hidden. I should go to Palm Tree more. Treasure Island was smart to put up that ant-vendor barricade. If the city complains it can be removed and put up again a week later! I wish Angels was open late so I could take something home after bar-hopping.

The list covers a lot of tastes, importantly where the restaurants specialise they produce good food. Only one I don't agree deserves its place is 3# for some reason their customer service and food quality has fallen off a cliff in the last year imo. With having one choice for (fresh) Sushi - John and Lois do a great job. I have had fresh Sashimi prepared whilst I wait more than once there and its great. Unassuming decor but great food at a reasonable price. I also like Thai food and Wild Herb ranks right up there for me. I agree with #1 spot, Johns Sushi is my#2 and Wild Herbs is #3. If I am walking on the other side of the road I enjoys Mango's tucker. For overall consistency and quality the Sit n Bull deserves it. ps: I have eaten at least once at all mentioned, bar Hops n Brews (next time).

Jewel is awesome, ate there 3 or 4 times a week during the lock downs after Suzuki closed their kitchen.

Pugon Corner Smokehouse needs to be on this list.

Great information John----always good to know the location of a good clinic. As you have said, there are hospitals for emergency sake and it's not that far to Angeles & Clark. And really, not that far to a world class facility at St Lukes in Quezon City. Happy New year to you and the lovely Mango
