My clients does invoicing in a different platform, not qbo. They say they will not do double work by creating invoices in qbo again. I wanted him to do that to track a/r in qbo, but they don't want to, how will you advice?
Find some way to integrate the other platform and QBO together. At the very least, you can do a general journal entry at the end of each month to update A/R numbers.
I have a schedule C. No bal sheet. What do you recommend? Also, if all accounts in QBO are not in tax return, how do you treat the missing accounts? Again, for payroll, how can one deal with it? I feel some unique applies to these
You can't tie a schedule C to a balance sheet because there isn't one. You can ask the prior tax preparer if they have them in their workpapers, but you probably won't have too much luck. Tax returns have additional schedules that will list the details of additional accounts that might be grouped under the other areas.
@@qbochat7373 great. So what sort I do if there is non? For payroll, I know I can get reports from payroll provider but these other accounts, what is the correct way to deal with them?
You want to make sure the totals add up. You aren't making sure the tax return is correct. You are making sure that the books haven't significantly changed from when the tax return was prepared. If the totals are off, then you need to investigate why and determine if the total amount is material to the client's situation.

Is there a rule of thumb to decide how long something will take us to do? I'm new to this so its not easy for me to guage.
No great rule of thumb. I usually start with guessing how long each bank reconciliation will take. Look at my diagnosing the books video or I might do a similar thing in this video or the next one.

can you modify the column headings for the approvers? It would be great to batch or have subgroups of invoices.

I don't see your comparison between Gusto and OnPay
I am a small business owner. I have been comparing payroll companies: Gusto, Square, ADP, Paychecks, etc. I am currently using Gusto. I started looking for a new payroll system because I need better time tracking without paying double for Gusto.

Hi there, Thank you soooooo much for the free training you have available on your youtube channel. It is extremely helpful and I am so grateful to have found your video. I'm currently setting up the Zapier automation to automatically add an invoice in QB from transactions w/ Stripe so that it automatically adds payment processor fees in my QB account. This is soo helpful but I just have one question I am hoping you can help me with. For the "Tax Calculation" part of the Zapier automation (6:55 in video)... I'm not sure which option to select here... I sell an online course over the phone and I charge 5800... the taxes are included in the 5800 enrollment fee (as i'm sure yours are too)... In your video, you leave the default option "Tax is excluded from price"... but wouldn't you want to select "Tax is included in price" or "Not applicable"?? Or does this part not really matter?? Again, so very grateful to have found your video and I'm hoping you can help me get some clarity on this part. Thank you so much! -Nate

I'm having trouble getting the expense portion of the QBO zap set up. I keep receiving an error message: The expense could not be sent to QuickBooks Online.Required param missing, need to supply the required value for the API. Everything else has worked great by following the tutorial but the final step is bogging me down. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help me to understand how many "tasks" were used here. Searching / Creating a customer, is that 1 or 2? Is the sales receipt 1 for a total of 3, or does each expense count as one, where there is a total of 5 or 6 tasks?
If you look at your task history in Zapier, you can see how many tasks were used on each item. Just scroll all the way to the bottom.

The point of the zap is that it is automated so you don't have to create an entry for each transaction. Zapier is triggered as soon as you have a new stripe charge.

In the tutorial, you'll see that you are doing a search in QBO for the customer, so the zap will create the sales receipt for any customer you have.

If you have the Stripe transactions from the bank go in to a Stripe clearing account, how do you reconcile your regular bank account then?
It all reconciles perfectly. You still have the dollar amount in the checking account, but it is just coded to the stripe clearing account.
Is it possible to add multiple line items from Stripe (assuming the data is available in Transaction Metadata) into a single sales receipt so I can easily track products instead of simply the total?

You have to have QuickBooks Online Plus to be able to do 1099-MISCs. If you have Essentials or Simple Start, consider using an outside vendor like Track1099.
I do not have the option on the vendors page to Prepare 1099's. Why is this? My Quickbooks online looks exactly the same as the one in the video with the exception of that button, which is not on my vendors page.
