It has been SOOO windy for 6 weeks or more, and quite a few days there delayed from rain as well, that I just haven’t had a chance to get out and keep working on the Wall Of Flowers project! So, now the only weather situation is that it’s HOT now! (Hovering back and forth around 100 degrees). So, I went out and planted my first flower seeds!

Off Grid storage solved. With 50 mph winds, the Coleman tent just got completely destroyed. We’re supposed to have rain (and maybe even snow as it was as low as 23 degrees over night), so it was an immediate decision kind of situation. I literally just had to do something. Nice video , but a bit of a correction. Propane will gel up and not flow long before gasoline. Propane stores much better however. I have had propane not flow many times in northern Canada once it gets past minus 40 . Propane powered vehicles will not work when gasoline does. Diesel can gel as well without the proper additives. Awesome set up you have , love it !

I use the MOFI 4G system to create WiFi from cellular (you just need the device and a SIM card. I’ve been using it for 4 years!).

Awesome Van. Things are coming along well. I was actually surprised to see you still had water in your catch pond. That is awesome. I feared that it would go right into the ground without a membrane. Back in the day, the old timers would put a hog wire fence around the catchment and put a few hogs in to seal the pond. Their wallowing around would mix the water into a mud or clay base that would then hold water. Of course the obvious downside is now you would have hogs to feed. :) I was in the Marine Corps in the 60s and stationed in Yuma, AZ., for about a year and a half. We stayed in the desert for months at a time on HAWK missile exercises. We slept in wall tents with cots. After finding a huge spider and some finding scorpions in their sleeping bags, I placed all of the cot legs into tin cans with an inch or so of diesel to keep the buggers out. Worked darn well.
I”ve heard of that trick with the cot legs! Genius! I was stationed in Ft Huachucha in ‘89 to ‘91 ! Small world!

@@SundanceSerenityHideaway I just bought Land in Williams Arizona, I’m at 6700 feet. I do better in the summers, but I get hit harder in the winters.

Looks like a hole project to work on to keep the flower wall up and running. A 55-gallon barrel with a rv pump a drip line might do the trick for now. Take care and have a wonderful day
That’s a good idea. I’ll just have to figure out how to power the rv pump. Maybe I can buy a 2nd shower pump (as it’s rechargeable) and do the same thing.
Wow.....exciting to see them sticking their heads above the soil. Life is amazing. Great idea with the shower pump. That thing really get it. I know those plants had to be loving it.
Apparently both species are very fast growers (10 to 15 feet in a single year), so I’m excited to see what happens!
You could get away with a cheap harbor freight batter and a small solar panel for the battery. The system will not be on long, and you have the rest of the day to top off the battery. Just an idea. Good luck

Funny enough, that same guy came back just the other day! He and his father couldn’t get into their land they way they used to (other ranchers locking gates now, etc). They walked in to my land and I drove out and met them out on the highway and showed them the correct way to get into this remote area and to their land. They literally didn’t know how (and they have 2 RV’s, a 4-wheeler and an excavator on their land!).
