very sloppy run taking some of the costliest possible deaths because im very sleepy x_x but im too excited about this route to not give it a run early. i might come back to this one later, it's fun and i know i lost entire minutes to those deaths...

patch 4.0.1 mostly did this one to showcase the power of running with the system time set to a full moon, since i didnt do that last time... you get so much xp and damage through lunacy that grinding is essentially a non-issue. this is also a much cleaner run overall, though it still has plenty of mistakes, most prominently two deaths in prison. all i really wanted was a better showcase of what...

i cant really devote time to faster runs, mostly on account of heart problems and memory issues making it unreasonable to run a game this long and punishing consistently x_x but i wanted to give it a shot at least once because the game is cool. and i think this is the first public 1.0 full game run, which is neat. please go faster than i did ^_^

Not sure if it would save time but im pretty sure you can spam ignis calor on the seal in the arena to get rid of it. I did it on the after it turned red and it worked.

why did the door at the castle say welcome lost one? ive never heard that
Might have to do with them being a vampire
probably because he chose to be a vampire at the start of the game
vampire class gets a special interaction with castle doors, able to walk through the red ones without blood spells and the white one without the key. this also enables a glitch that opens the green door without the key in an interaction i still dont quite understand

Why aren't people doing castle / crilall skip :(
because we timed the one we know of and found that the extra time added to get and cast barrier to do the skip is slower than just fighting crirall. i do hope there's a faster way though
@@_candleteeth who is we o.0 The castle and crilall skip is a combined 3.42 minute save. I think my method is going to be patched out sadly, but there are non busted ways to barrier through both areas in about as much time as just doing castle in old prince% routes
peachtea, myself, and a few others, holed up in a dedicated speedrunning server instead of trying to deal with the mess in kira's server. im sure it's a fine place for general discussion but speedrun talk doesnt really have a foot in the door x_x

offscreen lupine skeleton probably x_x you take 1900% extra damage when backstepping with axe of harming, so it's very important that there's no enemies in your way...

Is there any particular reason you pick shinobi over vampire? Even without double jump glitch early archives is free and vampire is allowed to enter castle le fanu without collecting the vampiric symbol W. Barrier should also be skippable with the double jump glitch and a few levels into dex.
You can also jump down to the axe of harming spot right next to it if you skid across the wall, makes the tree jump unnecessary. Do you have discord? I am up to the entrance of prison in my routing and I'd like to share route notes since the Kira server isn't exactly the best place to discuss speedrunning.

as for shinobi over vampire, it's because i just didnt know you could make that jump! i already have trouble doing it with shinobi... not the best at execution x_x it's really good to know you can though, puts a lot of questions i had to rest
Shinobi base stats are the only one that can consistently make contact / gain friction against the rock ledge into the archives. Every other class can do it, but they need to gain more friction first.
How do you execute double jump glitch?
Nice run! I really enjoyed this game and it seems like an interesting one to speedrun since so many areas are 100% optional, although the Backstep mechanic being optimal sounds really hard (and annoying) to optimize. I hope to see this game at Games Done Quick one day :)
@@TurtleBoxOfficial backstep spam is very taxing on the hands, especially considering the fact that its optimal to do literally anywhere there's movement, and it's also optimal to start doing the second you grab the sword at the start of the run. Backstep -> left click to allow you to backstep again sooner -> backstep again and repeat to infinity is the optimal way to move. Optimizing it is another story and requires an insane amount of map and game knowledge due to the sheer amounts of speed you can get with the axe of harming.
