[Official Music Video] Biruany Huni Kuin - Yube Nawá Aĩbu
Biruany, the leader of Mawa Isa, a collective of women from Pinuya Village, is known for her contributions to facilitating spiritual works and pioneering studies. She is regarded as a messenger of the feminine force of the forest and has overcome the male-dominated territory to unite and empower the Huni Kuin women. Biruany is a renowned figure who has traveled abroad, inspiring women with her powerful voice reflecting the forest's beauty, charm, and strength.
The song “Yube Nawá Aibu” represents, for me, the strength of the ancestral woman and our indigenous roots. It was one of the first chants I learned, a prayer that opened my path.
“Yube Nawá Aibu” is the enchanted Boa Woman, known as Siriani. In our tradition, it was from the world of the boa that the medicine of Nixi Pae (ayahuasca) emerged. We sing to manifest this energy, to bring strength and visions.
