Five minutes to calm down. Slow, atmospheric chill-out piano improvisation.
What happens when improvising while playing the piano depends entirely on day time and is clearly an expression of your mood. You can't predict what will happen. 5 minutes of my piano playing with a few pictures from the wintry Erzgebirge in Germany. Perhaps you will find sequences of well-known pieces and songs.

Cockaday Radio Receiver 1923 - The Legendary Four-Circuit Tuner
zhlédnutí 503Před 8 měsíci
A replica of a hundred year old, very unusual special REGENERATIVE RECEIVER with a RE034 triode. Pretty good selectivity and sensitivity for the time a century ago, here with a 12m wire antenna. Since Germany has completely switched off its medium wave, only foreign channels can be received. Two variable condensers: the additional trap circuit (green air coil) is optimally tuned to twice the re...

The sound of the old RCA Theremin is unique. The inventor Lev S. Termen and the world-class artist Clara Rockmore were ideal partners for the success of this instrument. Here is an attempt to re-create the sound with transistors instead of tubes.
Etherwave Big Briar Bass Region Test

Etherwave is in the deep bass region often too rough. By reducing the coupling between the two pitch oscillators this range can made a bit smoother. The higher octaves remain nearly unchanged in timbre. This effect is demonstrated here.
JP Theremin Study - New Approach
zhlédnutí 188Před 3 lety
Experimental study with my self built JP-Theremin. One single setting is used. A just recorded loop sequence is accompanied simultaneously. Attack volume dynamic is achieved only by hand movement due to the volume acceleration unit. Timbre choice remains also unchanged. Here you can see the overtone spectrum and a waterfall diagram over time.
NOISE - slow shifting between pink and red (brownian) noise while periodic variation of filtering.

Noise here is created with a zener diode and vizualised in a frequency time diagram. By periodicly change the filter function (like a wah-wah effect) the noise toggles from mainly red to more pink noise and back. This is no science, only an experiment for watching and listening.
Theremin - Volume Attack Accelerator
zhlédnutí 758Před 4 lety
The Theremin volume response by hand movement enables short, increased attacks depending on the speed. This attack does not occur if the distance to the antenna changes more slowly. With a little training, you can do different forms of ADSR..

Cool
What a cool little receiver! One question: Is the audio we hear during the video coming from the JFET amplifier shown towards the end of the video, or is it via a commercial amplifier's "phono" section as mentioned in the description? I wonder because phono inputs usually bring RIAA equalization, which, I imagine, must sound awful with inflated bass and missing treble when supplied with a (somewhat) linear signal like what's coming from your receiver circuit.
The audio in the first part comes from a guitar amplifier. The shown discriminator at VHF is connected to a jfet stage and an amplifier for PC. The phono is mentioned because of high impedance input is essential.
Yes, BAT15 is fine.
Super
😜
♥️
Of course it's old school and from the "time of the dinosaurs". Nowadays a cheap VNA is more practical. But for educational purposes, such a demonstration may be helpful.
Gute Arbeit.

Oh, the volume in my video is obviously too low. Increase it. Please let me know if there are other similar solutions as demonstrated here.
It could be mistaken as magic!
Howdy. Wonderful example of thinking outside the box. The box being the assumption that vhf amplification should be mandatory for detection. The diode should be a vhf germanium diode for example AA144 or 1N34. One may try biasing the diode by using a 1,5 V dry cell and a very large esistor, say 22 M in series with the diode. The current will be negilible but it will keep the depletion zone in the diode active. Regards.
I've been thinking about building an experiment like this! You did a great job!
Is there a schematic of the transistor version? Tanks
That’s a very adequate representation. You did well.
AAAHAAAA...SEĆAM SE.... TO JE DETEKTOR ZA AMPLITUDNU MODULACIJU... ZA "FM" ILI "PM" ,POTREBAN JE "FAZNI DETEKTOR ILI "DISKRIMINATOR".. OVO,OVAKO,NIKADA NE MOŽE RADITI NA "FM" SIGNALIMA...TAČKA .
This is functionable because of slope detection. Bandwidth of the tunable resonant circuit must have a proper value.

Hello again. May help this background: www.electronics-notes.com/articles/radio/modulation/fm-frequency-demodulation-slope-detector-discriminator.php
For FM radio a rod of 77.5cm is more appropriate, but dipole antenna has higher efficiency.
Sagenhafte Leistung!!!
Das funktioniert ja sehr gut 😊
Nice diy
Is this bass range achieved with a extended bass module of some sort of kit
No, there is no need for that if you reduce the coupling between fixed and variable oscillator a bit as done here with the simplest way.

Very nice project, thanks for sharing. I wonder how critical is the copper wire section for the loop (4mm), can it be say 2mm or 5mm? can it be hollow?
You could also use silvered wire, of course. For 1.5 mm please find examples here: czcams.com/video/QDlCOB80kVE/video.html Hollowed copper is also possible. Important is the Q of the tuned loop, the overall-bandwidth should be below 150 to 200 kHz. Usefull is a loop calculation program.
@@JpChannelOne Thanks a lot. Would you have a link to such a program/calculator? or any link describing some theory of operation, I don't get how tuning happens, for example.
@@EnriqueVetere I used this calculator: www.dl0hst.de/magnetlooprechner.htm The tuning happens with the variable air condensor.
This kind of detector works on a 'slope tuned' principle to receive FM.
That's correct

Reception of the medium wave in the night of December 30, 2015. The German broadcasting stations for the medium wave broadcasting of the ARD will be switched off shortly before midnight of the following day. The radios are models made by Grundig (Music- Transistor-Boy 59), Bollmeyer & Hoppe (SU-4, 1950) and Philips (Orion BD390A, 1949). The Deutschlandfunk is received here on 1422 kHz from the transmitter Heusweiler, distance approx. 625 km. The equipment is original. Heusweiler with a power of 400 kW was received as far as Sicily, the Balkans and Moscow. The whole of Scandinavia was reached via the Neumünster transmitter. Terrestrial broadcasting over long distances - this is now history in Germany.
But the circuit diagram is AM, not FM ???
Yes, the circuit is like for AM. However, the FM signal is before converted into an AM signal at a slope of the resonance curve, which is then not tuned to the maximum.
