Flamenco is Arabic music. Gitanos entered Spain in the 15th century from France. They adopted the Andalusian music of Maghrebi, Arabic, Amazigh, and Iberian origin that was already there. Roma adopt the music of whatever country they live in.

Check camaron de la isla's early flamenco songs. Same scale and style as traditional rajasthani gypsy music. It will sound odd to compare but slowly it will sound same ups and downs. Some of the romani in hungary, Romania and eastern europe have darker complexion just as indians. Make him/her learn hindi and modern indians cant tell difference -:)
