We Had This Call…Strategic Storytelling in EMS
This webinar was recorded live on August 27, 2024, by the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) in collaboration with Gary Heigel, M.Ed..
Description: Stories have a unique ability to engage and resonate with EMS learners. When instructors share real-life anecdotes and case studies, it helps bridge the gap between theory and practice, making complex concepts more relatable for EMS professionals. These stories provide a deeper understanding of the intricacies of their work, and the impact of their decisions become clearer. However, it's essential to strike a balance because overreliance on storytelling may sometimes be distracting and ineffective, and possibly perpetuate myths or outdated practices. We'll discuss how we can harness the storytelling method effectively while maintaining a commitment to evidence-based practices and consistency in the learning experience.
