Yeah, there's a lot of selfish ppl out there that want to control their spouses... They don't even care about what all that scheming, arguing, yelling, emotional abuse, etc. affects their kids. After all, they're THEIR kids, right? So, that means they "own" them, right? Good for the girl that had the resources (and friends) to liberate herself from that situation. I was taken out of my dysfunctional family by social services at 15. After 8 months in a group home, they found me an apartment and gave me a monthly allowance. I was in my last year of high school, and worked part-time to fill in the missing money. At 17, my tutor signed for me to join the army, and that was it. No emancipation, still a kid, but somehow allowed to live on my own. We get full adulthood at 18 where I live, and at 14 you already get to decide your own medical procedures without any parental knowledge. Even things like abortion. The age of consent is also 16 here. We grow up pretty fast in my province.

There are numerous other philosophical traditions, like Buddhism, Vedanta, and non-dualism, that offer equally profound, if not greater, insights into the nature of the mind and spirit. His authoritative dismissal of Gnosticism as mere "heresy", is at the end of the day, an appeal to religion, and ultimately a matter of opinion, and comes off as both narrow-minded and arrogant. Additionally, the current transgender phenomenon he critiques is relatively unique to the West, a culture historically steeped in Dualism, despite recent disruptions in that thinking (Post-Modernism). In regions where philosophies like Buddhism, Hinduism have long been established, we do not see transgenderism as it manifests in the West at all. Suggesting that this current transgender ideology isn't simply the result of subscribing to some particular philosophy of the mind and body. Knowles also arrogantly asserts that his specific interpretation of the philosophy of mind and body is the correct one. This is just one view among many, and there is no definitive proof for any metaphysical framework, (others, mine, including his own). Yet, he presents his opinions as facts, labeling other ideologies as "dangerous" without acknowledging the unverifiable and subjective nature of these matters. Despite that, I do agree with his point about political leftists "forcing change" by manipulating language through media, education, and other means. This kind of social engineering is indeed concerning.
