🔴 Weekend biking to Hoorn of the CNN girls. From Heemsker, to Akersloot, to the pontje. We biked along De Rijp, Middenbeemster, Westbeemster, Noordbeemster. 🔴 Late upload of our 2023 sailing holiday. We started from the ARZV in Akersloot, travelled with motor into Den Helder for day 1. On day 2, we sailed into Texel island. We stayed another day (day 3) and went with taxi bus into the light house in the north. 🔴 Day 23: Hoorn -Amsterdam Spinnaker was raised in the course Hoorn to Amsterdam! It is a pity that there are so many waterplants in Hoorn, you really need to stick into the grass-cutted route. We had to stop a couple of times in the attempt to remove the water plants hanging in our keel. We arrived very late in Amsterdam. 🔴 Day 18: Texel - Den Oever A nice fair wind, and against the sea current, we left Texel to head to the water locks of Den Oever and entered IJsselmeer. It took us 3-4 hours sailing time. Besides being the largest lake in the Netherlands, the IJsselmeer (Lake IJssel) boasts several other extraordinary facts thanks to its dramatic transformation over time: from the time when the Zuiderzee was hit by storms to its modern identity as a freshwater lake.
