I've also been drawing since I could hold a pencil and it's definitely been an advantage within fashion spaces but it's not the ultimate, you just need to be able to communicate your idea clearly. I've since made my own basic croquis and often change up the faces and certain details to make it new but it all stems from my template. It also allows my work to be identifiable as everyone has a specific handwriting and I use that to my advantage always. You don't need to know how to draw but omg does it help.

I ve been doing this for four years and I have to say I have learnt so much. However I will also say that it is very exhausting and the reward isn't very high. My customer base is mostly petite and plus-size. Ideally having a team would be perfect.

Damn, to be fair I'm not even in fashion school but my dream since 2018 was being a fashion designer, I want to create something unique and thanks to you I got motivation and inspiration to make it happen, there is a lot to learn but thank god you exist. It's going to be hard even with the language cause I'm not native English speaker, but there is always pros and cons about everything, at least I'll practice English with fashion terms!

What if the person cannot leave the house much and does not have books or a printer and does not have anything other than Wi-Fi? We can learn books from them, but for free.

You did not mention in any of your videos where a person should start, whether from bodies, fabrics, sketches, or drawing skirts and shirts, their types, and every story. What it means and how we can explain our design. Please answer this question

The plus size forms I've tried to look up are sooooo expensive and they don't even go that high. My problem area is my bust and those form companies seem to think that really big women don't have proportionally sized breasts.

Im so very late to the party but do you still produce these sketch books every once in a while and can you make ones with plus size figures only? My goal is to build a plus size brand and im not the best at drawing😅.

Here's an idea from me if you still want to start your own business. You can offer service like tailor-made clothes for locals. If you're into designing, you can start to find models who have problems with customizing garments to go to fashion show.

I’m definitely not considering to start a fashion illustration career, but was plain curious about Adobe illustrator (I now have the cut down version for the iPad). I have used various graphic programs before: Paint Shop Pro (pc) and Procreate (iPad) and a little bit of Adobe Photoshop (pc) and to me they are all basically the same (eg working with layers, creating vectors, pen, pencil and eraser tools, colour manipulation) except of course the tools are located in different places and each program/app has their own set of special features. So after watching this video I decided to try out Illustrator and with my previous experience of other similar software I have figured my way around most the tools in minutes and it is very intuitive and easy. Therefore I question why you specifically need previous experience in Illustrator to get such a job?

I want to be a fashion designer But I don't draw well at all I tried really really hard to learn drawing I went to school went to art courses and searched for stuff online and never got any better I wish I could be a fashion designer But I really started to lose hope

So…..readers digest version. Convalescing from knee surgery, always wanted to be a fashion designer in my youth. My granddaughter is a figure skater and I’ve been playing around with designing competition dresses. I’ve looked at my drawings that I’ve used colored pencils, blending them, etc etc. so, in my old age, I want to learn how to up my game with the drawings, so they look more professional. Love the effects with the gouache paint and your tutorials…any advice ?
