I put braids in my daughter's hair and for the first time her braids did not curl on the ends. I twisted them and dip them in hot water and they were bone straight. Not sure what I did wrong

I've tried this and the trick is you have to use a thicker string for thicker braids and thinner strings for thinner braids it was a bit of a struggle because some strings wouldn't allow me to slide the hair up so I had to find a string that wasn't cotton, also sometimes if the braids are thick and you're doing bigger sections sometimes the curls unravel on the string she never showed how she ties it at the end so I secured it by just putting a knot after that not working I used rubber bands but that didn't help completely either, anyhow it's cute it looks curled and scrunched but you can tell the curls are different for each section up close because like I said had some trouble staying coiled but 7 out of 10

For those overwhelmed by this, using perm rods will give you the exact same curl

So I didn't try this method, it seems complicated, but I love your work. I'm so glad I saw you4 video with the uneven ends. I was so worried 😅, I'm no professional, so I'm glad you explained the uneven ends. I just did my box braids, and some of the ends are uneven, so this really makes me feel so much better.
