We’re in the growing pains stage right now, working out the bugs that these new types of energy generation create, but if you pay attention to what’s happening in the industry, it’s mostly good news. A lot of people from all sides of the industry are working really hard on these engineering challenges so that we’ll soon come out with a more reliable, sustainable, and resilient grid on the other end.

That's interesting, what about reducing the number of wheels instead of upping the weight? I've seen this utilized in racing, can't remember where. The basic idea is when the car is cornering, it's essentially on 3 wheels which causes better grip due to increased weight on the contact patches.

greetings from Melbourne AUS, great video, as a fellow engineer im appears to know few expert dam engineer in victoria and i have heard far too many people say dam-wall, its just a dam like you said 👍. On a smaller civil project we often used to installed precast concrete pit/wall to mitigate the groundwater issues, we also monitors the seepage points on dams and measure the ground movement with piezo, some older dam also have tradional pendulm to measure the movement. some area has historical ground water level and some large project would normally have sump pit and pump installed. thanks again for the video

Fascinating. I recently learned that clean creek water can be made drinkable with an RO system. The under sink variety is affordable! I intend to move to the 'edge of the grid' instead of 'off grid' and rather than digging a well, I'll be getting some of those 275g water jugs. A solar powered pump would hopefully be enough to fill it. I'm not worried about it being speedy. Then let an under-sink RO system handle making it potable. Technology is amazing.

This may actually be a good case for mechanical spinning power storage. Flywheel capacitors that can help regulate the power grid. They can be relatively cheap and can help buffer these issues out on a wind/solar farm. You could also connect them in series to stabilize things.

People living less than half a mile have had material residuals in their houses that were not tested (there was one test for something that wasn't an issue), and houses and businesses are being abandoned. Wildlife has died at higher rates, the creek water has a rainbow, and people are showing higher incidences of illness. NS AFAIK has done nothing for the townspeople except oh, they set up a new city park!

Here the solar charges a big DC battery and then an inverter supplies in the house and pushes to the grid. If the grid goes down, the pushing stops.
