KNIPEX: pliers wrench xs. pocket vise!
Very cool idea. Thank you for sharing
Love the intro
Funny thing I got some copper tubing to try imitating empty bullet shells for pendants, now I have a new use for the tube! Thanks for the idea, tho I don't have a wrench like that just the Cobra xs, I'll try but it's gonna make jagged ends, maybe it'll look cool like that too!
Another idea if you have thick-ish copper wire you could twist it like a spring on a rod, make a nice spiral bead!
@@DanielDan-rg9zw i'll give that a shot!
Nice but i like my 28 dollar bibury 😊
LOVE when anyone talks about hidden gem blades!!!
So basically this is the nearly identical to the Daicamping DL30. The only difference I see is in the belt pouch
Interesting shape! Always looking for something a little more pocketable or fitting better in hand.
Where they lower cost is no epa no osha or regulations and possibly either child or slave labor in china.. thats part of the cost savings.. don't get me wrong i buy stuff at harbor freight.. i bought a 225 piece tool set..i believe made in taiwan i figured most everyday mechanic tool set are made offshore..
You really did a very good review. While i agree with many of your points. I personally really like my Bibury it was $29. I only wish i bought the one when it was $35 that has the replacement saw and diamond file. I really like the full sized bits. My problem with leatherman was their bits were to soft for my line of work. I used leatherman for years i stopped because their price didn't match their quality or usefulness. I also believe Bibury uses 7cr17 which is a upgrade over 420hc.
Please consider using a tripod
Actually looks pretty decent. Nice find.
Now they just need a surge clone with a belt clip since none of the others do.
I prefer flat bits. You can't fit the amount of bits in a small enough package to carry in a slim leather holster such as mine. If I want quarter inch bits I'll go to my tool bag.
I love it, got two, tempted to get one of the custom models
Whilst it seems a great clone, I personally feel they have shot themselves in the foot opting to go with the flat driver bits. For me, that is a total deal breaker, particularly when you look at all of the other wave clones using standard bits. The Bibury, Roxon and Flissa options seem much better in my opinion. Great review tho!
It's a good quality tool for the price. And it's easy for people to buy. I like the bronze or copper washers they use. Nice thick pivots too.
Great knife! I haven't had a shot at giving one a try yet, but I do enjoy this pattern.
They did a great job with this one.
That clone looks spot on!
The bibury wave clone I have has been perfect. The surge clone unfortunately has not and is the worst fit and finish I've ever seen in a multitool which sucks because for the most part they seem to be made well
I admire swiss engineering but prefer the strength of the Leatherman Surge. I honestly don't see my Surge breaking for the next 50 years but if it does I'm very tempted to try the Bibury at that price point. Thanks for sharing your review!
Handle longer than a baseball bat! 😂 Great video as usual! 👍
I like being able to justify a premium purchase because of the care and R&D that goes into it but... some clones and other kind of tools are definitely getting better and for what I might use them for... hrmmm..
In time the grip will diminish on the cobra, not go smooth, but do reduce grip considerably.
The thin jaws on the 125 are to thin for me, thank you for showing. The 150 it is.
@8:20 A pair of 6” or 5” twin grip would be perfect for me
I recently found the CHUMS wallet in the sporting goods section at Walmart. I bought two: one for work and one for personal use. For work, I need to carry my ID and certificates indicating my responsibilities. For my personal everyday carry (EDC), the wallet has a section for coins, and the key pocket is perfect for attaching my AirTag.
I went to the local hardware store to buy the XS but holding the 100 mm and 125 mm versions side by side instantly turned me toward the larger model. People have varying needs for edc tool sizes. The 125 mm / 5” model has been small enough for me to carry every day and barely notice it.
Some really great barlows! They are a new favorite pattern for me as well.
I on't presently own any barlows. However, if my email notifications are to be believed, I may or may not have one coming in the mail... I am a fan of this "modern traditional" trend - classic designs with modern materials and manufacturing techniques. Let these designs shine the brightest they can.
I've never given my carbon steel Opinel No. 9 much TLC, a very thin layer of vegetable oil from time to time, and it still works as great as it did when I purchased it. Sharpening is the easiest thing in the world and those Opinels get razor sharp.
does it float?
Interesting! I don't have a lot of multi tool experience and thus don't really have a multi tool "doctrine" so to speak. Thanks for the thoughts.
Dont think i ever had a Gerber multi tool, always used a Leatherman. I may be wrong though, memory aint what it used to be lol
Simple answer is absolutely 100% yes still useful one of my favorites
A really great knife!!
Classy stuff! Glad to see this along with the resurgence of the slipjoint in our general circles.
I don’t know why the scissors stopped closing for a bit, but when the closed too far, it looked like it was because you had the pliers open which meant there was nothing to stop it.
I had to order from the UK two compacts, one in white scales and one in black. The US only has red compacts.
Maybe you should try unscrewing it from the other side of the screw, maybe you twisted the part where it is screwed in and the screw itself is on the other side.
I did... same thing
You nearly convinced me for $76.85 on eBay au but I have my Leatherman Juice S2 with a really good pair of pliers as a backup the my SAK Explorer and its tools..
So I thought they are out of business...
They kinda are. But some stuff is still in stock at various places
That’s a fake
Buy a foldable box cutter with a pocket clip and you won't ever look back. I used to carry knives too until I switched, always sharp.
You have a link for the sheath?
www.leatherman.com/nylon-sheath-w-pockets-549.html It currently runs for about $20.00 plus shipping.
Can you swap the scale from the olight to the nextool ?
I think so. If you dont round out the screws like i did
@@jspr_edc Just seen olight released a scissor version !
Great tool, couldn't agree more. Thanks for sharing. PS. I use the 87 03 125 version to crack crab shell in a seafood restaurant.😄
The crab cracker 125 Lol
Thanks for the video. I went with the Lever Gear Edge XT.
Don't try to tighten the pivot screws even if the tools are all floppy and you risk getting cut...cheap Chinese screw heads twist right off. Mine had loose tools right out the box and I ruined the thing immediately. Waiting for new screws to arrive now.
Noted. Though i did tighten the serrated blad screw & nothing went wrong
Did u remove the coating on purpose?
The red handle coating? Yes. Too slippery
🤤
Ayyyo, is that a Spiderman 2 reference (of the Tobey trilogy)? Good stuff. I keep a larger, more "tactical" light in a holster on my bag though such lights are hard to pocket-carry for sure.
I didnt realize it till you said it... but i guess it is
