I want some crow friends
I have a deck off a living room area that has windows. There is a tree about 35 feet away with an active crows nest. I have put peanuts on the railing in view of the crows every morning for three weeks. They can see bluejays and other birds as they stuff themselves but the crows haven't taken advantage so far.

Bird wit no brim
I've been feeding a pair of ravens for five years, and they don't allow others of their kind, hawks, or falcons to enter their air space. I refer to my front garden as the lunch box. A couple of hundred birds feed their every day. Its like they take shifts. And the special one's come in between. I have even taught the stellar jays to talk. I dream of being a bird 🐦.
I am so happy for you...I would love to have crows like that I never get to see any crows except perhaps in parking lots.
@suzengreer1416 ya crows are amazing. I've seen them harass a very large eagle. So much so I got very worried about the eagle getting knocked out of the sky. Crows aren't protected. You might be able to buy one. Oh, neighbor illegal killed a bear. And it died on my property. Had a swarm of vultures. The ravens laid low. Then went after the stragglers. They own the sky again.
My raven friends loved cheese, I've since moved location and made friends with Magpies...who also visit for cheese nibbles and I'm currently being quietly observed by a lone raven. Loved your video ☀️❤️
It's amazing how each has a distinct personality. One crow grabs all he can, another is impatient and eats his peanut right there and yet another goes through the nuts as if it's not sure which one to choose.
While they certainly each have their own distinct personalities, I wonder if their behavior might also be influenced more by how hungry they are.

Hello, I want to befriend and feed crows in a flat territory with some trees in it. Sometimes dogs wander around but I can confirm that it's a "crow territory" because I see a murder of crows (they're either magpie or hooded crows i don't know) hanging around on trees most of the time. Is feeding roasted unsalted shelled peanuts okay? I also want them to see the food easily but because of grass I gues they have a chance to not see it, any tips?

That seagull caused the queue to slow and enlarge. I backyard ground feed birds (mostly small varieties) and have some crows and ravens occasionally, but not far away are two shopping centers with fair seagull populations they will occasionally overfly high above my residential street as do the corvids. But although the seagulls will eat my peanuts in the shopping center parking lot they have never landed for eats in my backyard or drive? You occasionally feed on the street do the seagulls appear there? I wonder if it's the height of your balcony. I seasonally have a pair of ducks in the backyard so don't think its the size. (Do you think I have a case?). Have a profitable 2024 with many lucrative easily argued cases.
What are those balls that the crows got first?
Boiled egg yolks! Crows love them.

@@TheUtuber999 They’ll eat egg whites, but they’re much more enthusiastic about yolks. If I set out whites and yolks together, they’ll scoop up the yolks and may or may not return for the whites hours later. Yolks are high in protein and fat calories they need for flying; whites not so much.
The crows all take their turns. They must be used to your place but they are still very suspicious of the camera.
They’re accustomed to the camera and normally hang around, hop about, caw at me for more snacks and in the spring bring their fledglings for feeding, but recently about ten wayward seagulls have taken notice of the spot. They’re mostly out of view on the roof and flying overhead, and they make the crows very anxious.

They probably didn’t see it. Try again! Be sure to give them enough space and don’t try to make eye contact with them until they’re comfortable around you. It freaks them out.

@@lawyercrow I tried yesterday morning with crow call they would come to our backyard tree replying back. I put the peanuts , boiled egg under where they were, but they left.
@@GFig29 Did you leave it on the ground, or on a surface like a table? Did you stand nearby watching? If you left it on the ground, they may not have seen it. A surface with plenty of space for them to land and hop around is best. If you’re standing nearby, they’ll feel threatened and leave. It can take a little patience. Remember that you’re much bigger than them, so until you’re a friend, you’re a predator. But once they recognize you’re safely giving them tasty treats, they’ll adopt you.
Birds divebomb other animals if there seems to be a threat to their bird nest. Of course, it could be they prefer creamy over crunchy..
