I have a large box of old records that I'm converting to digital. The songs aren't the greatest quality, but I'm getting better at it.
The songs are mostly Irish folk, but there are a few western/country albums as well as Beach Boys and what appears to be 80s punk. Should be interesting.

I love that you when McCormack sings this song he pronounces it like a Gaelic speaker "Mo mhuirnín" instead of the American-Anglo "Mavourneen." Just brilliant, his voice was certainly heaven sent.
Willy was from dun laoghaire unfortunately he passed away so young . He released about 20 vinyl albums and was very popular in the states before the Clancy bros hit the scene
My Godmother from Ireland owned this record. I remember every word. ❤
Great stories 👍
Such a poet .. singer...musician. ..magical ..so grateful.
2024
Thank you for this my grandfather passed in February and many a road trip singing this song
I’ve loved the Wolfe Tones for over 50 years.
I want this played at my funeral. The voyage (life) is done and the winds (breath) don't blow, and it's time for us to leave her (the body).
My Mother used to sing this. Happy memories
Balls
The lyrics only make sense when you realize this is a song about a father's love for his son.
Thank you so much! This song is very hard to find in its whole form, it's often just the chorus that is sung, or else the chorus folded into renditions of 'Hannigan's Hooley'. For those curious, 'If You're Irish, Come Into the Parlour' was originally written in 1919 by John Browne (AKA Shaun Glenville) and Frank Miller. Shaun Glenville, a Dublin native, toured the US as a pantomime and Music Hall Performer, but also authored several successful songs, including 'Are We Downhearted? No!', 'Where have those Golden sovereigns gone?' and 'Hinky Dinky Parlez Vous'.
Michael Riley are you my cousin?
I have had an epiphany today - this tune is the basis for Tom Paxton's "Ramblin' Boy" and Barry Sadler's "Ballad of the Green Berets"
❤
Very hilarious, I love this song & I have it on CD
Great song rip Liam never forgotten rip
So beautiful! There was never a voice like Mary O'Hara's and scarce will be again.
Love this, thank you.
I often played this at My Father in Laws house over the years usually after a good night out. Great memories
The most cleaareast purist voice ever
Thanks
Superb!!!I love this. Any information on the singer??
A haunting treasure
Brings back memories of my Mother singing around the kitchen ❤
As good as it gets.
Slow train coming
This is a sad song, but he romps through it with no feeling whatsoever. There’s not an ounce of emotion in his voice. It’s like a race to see how quickly he can get to the end. The Dolores Keane, or Natalie Merchant versions bring a tear to your eye. This is like nails on a blackboard.
Thanks for uploading always reminds me of the Two Gallant's story in James Joyce's Dubliners.
Clancy brothers version is much better
Brilliant.

Beautiful song but depressing lyrics.
Shame he died so young what happened
So much memories ❤ Love rojos song . Reminds me of my Grandfather. ❤
Thank you, Michael. You've no idea how happy and nostalgic finding this makes me. My granddad was half Irish, half Italian but played this album every Christmas Eve. He's been gone since 2012, so Christmas has never been the same but seeing this brings him back to me, even if only for a short time. Thank you! 🥹
How’s David!
I remember hearing this on a country radio station in Tawas City, Michigan (WDBI-FM) that played old and new country Christmas records on the air in 1992. thus, this old song was played along with Garth Brooks and Alan Jacksons then-current Christmas tunes. Strange, but true, as the late Anita Kerr may have something to do with this album along with Johnny Douglas. Today, C&W radio unfortunately won't do that anymore much blending the old with the new.
Excellent thank you for adding this classic!
The beautiful sounds of Ireland. I'm looking forward to St. Patrick's Day in 2024.
We listened to this song amongst others when my dad died at 91 and his family We spent time telling stories and listening to music with him and then sitting vigil until he passed. I’m Canadian and he came here from Australia in the 50s. His parents were Scottish. What’s my point..great song
☆☆◇□•°☆ Fantastic...My parents Had this Album... I Love ALL the Songs on It...But Especially This One...A Little Exotic..With Just A tad bit of Magick...of Glamour!!◇♡☆•° deb out◇☆•••°♡
When I was a teenager over sixty years ago or more I saw the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem in concert at the Caird hall in Dundee Scotland, and have been a fan of their music ever since, I believe Tommy to be the finest folk singer Ireland ever produced and the best representative ever of that country.

I grew up with this LP and we played it every Christmas growing up and even after I had my own family. I still have it. This always brings me back to everything that is cherished about home 😔
If you listen closely, you might notice that she went home without her bra and her miniskirt was in her hand. I guess she walked home naked.

This is my grandad I’m not joking I’m called Tommy brady
Heck of a voice he had, great songs
Yes he did
I just ordered the CD. I think I may have had it on cassette years ago, and really sank myself in it, and then years passed. Just recently I remembered, Clancy and Maken and said -- get that back in your life, woman! So I did. So happy.
I just picked this album up at Goodwill. I love this song.
Kick a**
