Hello, what do you think of the Navajo Sacred Songs on You Tube,
When this interview was recorded, Dr. Wilson Aronilth told the student journalists (who were very aware of not sharing sacred content) that it was okay for him to sing this song because it was not considered sacred. It was a song of greeting. He is one of the most respected authorities on Navajo culture. Other CZcams videos that may display sacred materials probably shouldn't, but that is their choice and decision.

I like the flute music at the end I always get reminded at school of this music it always plays in my head and it's so good to play I like the music because it's a flute I own a Navajo flute I bet that's hard to play but I just love the music
Navajo and I'm a weaver too just a 9 year old boy weaving a rug is a fun thing to do I'm leaving work and I like your border it's not straight it's kind of like waves I hope to be a Navajo that week for museums and trading posts

Yes. The way you wrote it is good... The T is pronounced, but just barely. So, it sounds much like SAY-Lee. And, Both the TSAY and The LEE get almost the same accent or force. More like TSAY-LEE, rather than TSAY-lee or tsay-LEE. Most locals I spoke to over the years said it like that. A few also put a tiny hint of enunciation on the "i", so it sounds almost -- not quite -- like three syllables: TSAY-ih-LEE.

Oh she's talking about the Natives that took advantage of the Urban Relocation Program of 1952. It was yet another attempt by the U.S. government to erase Native identity. Natives from all over the country signed up for the program and were relocated to Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, and somewhere in Texas (Dallas?). Instead of erasing Native identity, Natives brought their identity with them. They found one another at Indian Centers. That's why those major cities have Indian Centers. They cater to the displaced Natives. It's good to hear some came back to their homeland to learn more about themselves, their history, and their culture.
