    one particular house rule can eliminate a good deal of down-time without seriously impacting the game: instead of rolling to move, simply move 1 + the paw value on the hero's card. Scurry would double the total move value (1+paw value)*2. One would still need to roll in the courtyard per the Crow attack rule.

    Hand Limit .You may only have 5 cards in your hand, including Treasure and Special Action cards. If you ever find that you have 6 or more cards (for example because you drew more cards or received cards from another player) you must immediately choose and discard the excess to the Treasure discard pile. If you choose to discard a Special Action card, you may use its action before discarding.

      @@Bakemovies Have 5 cards, take 1, so you have 6, discard 1 (using the special ability if it has one and you want to). Have 5 cards again, take another 1, discard 1. Now left with 5 still.

    1:25 is either incorrect or unclear. While it is correct that only 1 building can acquire the architecture bonus, it is not true that the 2nd building must be built without using the bonuses. The rule is that architecture bonus can be used for *either* the first or the second building, but not both. Specifically in the rules it says “if you construct two buildings, you can apply your architecture technologies to the first or the second, but one of them must be built without architecture technologies” ....This can make a big difference because it means you could build building 1 which advances you upwards on the architecture tech track, then use architecture bonus on the second building (and thus immediately benefitting from the increased tech that the first building gave).

    • @Hakucho64
      @Hakucho64 Před 2 lety

      Yeah he said "your second building", which wasn't technically wrong, but it would have been clearer still if he'd said "your other building".

    Could somebody explain the exact sequence of events when you draw 2 Waters Rise cards in a row? I noticed that this player didn't play any flood cards at the end of his first Waters Rise card draw?

    • @sroeland1
      @sroeland1 Před 3 lety

      When 2 Waters Rise cards are drawn in a row, shuffle the discard pile only once, but move the Water Level marker up 2 tick marks. This is taken straight from the rule book, page 6. So you'd draw the 2 Waters Rise cards, shuffle the flood discard pile just the one time, then draw the appropriate number of flood cards that match the new water level after it has been moved up two tick marks.

    Can you trade with someone who already has the max number of cards? Are you allowed to discard cards you think you don’t need, or do you have to exceed 5 cards then make the choice?

    • @misterasterisco5217
      @misterasterisco5217 Před 2 lety

      can you trade if the receiver will then exceed: yes, it's in the manual that you may end up with 6 cause someone donated to you, but you must then get rid of one immediately. And about the 2nd question, I think you only discard when you have 6 or more. if less than 5 you gotta keep them.

  • @MattZRJSRoxy
    @MattZRJSRoxy Před 5 lety

    I hate to point this out but what you state in regards to #9 regarding when the discard step takes place well that contradicts the rule book since the rules state and I quote "If you ever find that you have 6 or more cards, you MUST IMMEDIATELY choose and discard the excess to the discard pile"

    It is possible from the video to infer that a mouse can only carry three weapon/armor pieces, and such is not the case. Note that the "Equip" section (P15 of the current Mice & Mystics rulebook) makes a clear distinction between equipped items and items in the pack. We should be careful to mention that equipped items (placed face up in front of a particular mouse) are not in the pack (placed face down in front of the same mouse). It is only when the pack may go beyond 3 that an item must be discarded. Also -- another clarification -- one instance where the "only 3 items in the pack" rule must be applied is in the receiving of searched for items. With a strict interpretation of the rule for "Search" (on P12), successfully searched for items must first go to a mouse's pack. On a successful search, if you want the item and already have 3 items in the searching mouse's pack, you must discard something else in the pack to receive the new item -- and this is even true if you have a slot open in your equipment for the item... even if you want to use your free action to equip immediately, the item still must travel through the pack to get to your inventory & so must push out another item in the process.

    One thing I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is how co-op games can also be played solitaire. As it's player vs game, it doesn't really matter if it's multiple players or just one vying against the game. Just play as if you were four people, taking four distinct turns, and it works fine. I would think that the game manufacturers would want to advertise that their co-op games could be played with one player, as doing such would open a larger market for persons like myself who don't often have others available or interested in gaming.
