That was actually an option I looked at several years ago! Donating the house to the local fire department for training with a controlled burn.

No parking lot! It's currently a grassy area for picnics and kids play. While it had been a beautiful old house, the church maintained this building for decades (total basement gut included) and used it extensively until they were finally able to build an appropriate addition to their existing building - rendering this house empty and useless (and a huge liability). I think the original family would have been pleased to see how long their home was used and how many people were hosted, fed, taught, counseled, and cared for by this church.

You're correct. This is a church - so there are specific needs that this building couldn't meet (think life safety, fire escape, and handicap access) - and a limited budget. Essentially down by Home Depot. However, I will say, I experienced something I had never experienced before, or since, when flying there. My drone showed a strange message about motor power failure or something. It was bizarre enough that I flew back and landed and left. There's a US government contractor right there that deals with unmanned aerial vehicles. I would not be surprised if they have some equipment deployed there, either for real or for testing, that interferes with drones.

This truck is on air suspension. The entire truck can sit it's frame on the ground but can also lift itself up with nearly a foot of ground clearance! Best of both worlds. The truck bed is also on air and can raise and lower.
