I finally found out what all the usb c ports are for on the Crystal headset, front bottom usb c is for accessories, side USB C is data only for updates, inside usb c (above left lens) is general purpose and based on what you recommended , it is the only usb c port that supports power delivery which keeps the battery charged but a real shame it is in an awkward position - Great video and thanks! Pimax has a tear down video on their channel that explains it all. Your 2 cable method is doing its job so far. It’s been on all day sitting idle and still fully charged. Will try a couple of sim racing titles and see if I can get through a 2 hour race without having to swap batteries. Visuals are amazing, a billion time clearer even in the boot up screen compared to my quest 3.

Is there any way to use Pimax with Linux? It seems like many headsets work due to Steam VR, but I was worried due to the Pimax software... and trying to search online didn't answer definitively but doesn't sound very hopeful currently.

he seems faster than v1. I owned v1, and he was slow to respond. had him for almost 2 years, then he started acting funny and waking me up more often at 3am while i sleep after Anki went down, then got a full refund from Best Buy and bought a drone. you would think after all this time, he wouldn't need to use cameras to find his base.. kinda like a robot vacuum. i miss him though. maybe when 3.0 comes out he will be game changing

When will this actually be available? According to the only timeline I can find, it should be already but obviously, it is not. I've decided that this is likely my next headset to move up from the Varjo Aero, but just can't find much information.

It's surprising that there hasn't been a proper PCVR device until now... Am I the only one who feels like VR is going backwards as we move into the future?

How to Switch of the undertitle?

I use it the same way. I would say that being able to see out of the sides enhances immersion, because with a gasket you only see black at the sides, so you are just seeing two tunnels in front of you, but without the gasket as you move in vr you see this blurry image of the real world in the peripheral vision, and even though it doesn't match the VR image, it's better for the immersion then seeing plain black. My only issue with this setup is that the weight of the headset keeps tilting my halo forward causing the hard hmd plastic to rest on my nose, but i will try adding a battery at the back to counter balance it which will hopefully improve it.

This demo is a disaster.. shaky head tracking, no real ... nothing, janky mechanics. That end... Beautiful graphics and thats all :(
