The best rendition of this song by miles, and I've done lots of searching. The rhythm from your guitar is more foot stomping than other versions can accomplish with a full band. And a fantastic voice, reminiscent of Stan Rogers. Thank you for sharing! Id love to hear an updated HD version

My mother told me the story: she and my father, newly married, and like many of their fellow Scots in that era emigrated to Canada in 1957 by ship. A pipe band played this song on the dock in Glasgow, and "everyone was in floods of tears". Your lovely rendition and wonderful voice brought that memory to life.
