This model railway, built to go to exhibitions, scale 1:87, is about the Nordlandsbanen, a 730 km long railway line that crosses the Arctic Circle in the far north of Norway. Worked out with many details and typical landscape features. Built around stories and legends that can be told about the Nordlandsbanen. Such as the Hell Gods Expedition freight shed and construction of the line during wartime. But also about Lapland, still inhabited by the Sami. Built around two main themes: Hell Stasjon and Polarsirkelen. Both are tourist attractions in Norway, which will give those who have been there a feeling of recognition. The background shows northern Norway with the Saltfjellet, snow-capped mountain peaks, steep rock walls and green forested slopes.
Deze modelspoorbaan in de schaal 1:87, modulair gebouwd om naar tentoonstellingen te gaan, gaat over de Nordlandsbanen, een 730 km lange spoorlijn die de poolcirkel kruist in het uiterste noorden van Noorwegen. Excellent videography thank you! Just as I would expect from you Sir! The air seems so clear there…I could almost ‘feel’ how fresh and crisp it must have been! Question…what are those round extrusions on the top of the iron ore wagons? Are they used for gripping the wagons when they’re emptied? (Tipping fashion?). I’ve seen them quite often….but I’m still puzzled! Best wishes from Rob in Bournemouth, England.
