My dad sleeps in recliner a lot due to stroke but am not sure is good for his lower leg and has developed a knee issue. he sleeps with chair leg extension not fully raised so his lower leg is lower than his knee . I am not sure that is a good position even if is a recliner. is a body position not unlike in the picture though my dad has a longer leg rest which reaches his feet.

Those sure have come a long way since the leather and steel braces, usually attached to an (occasionally lifted) orthopedic shoe or boot that were around when I was a kid and teenager. There were a couple kids in school that had to wear them, possibly from the very end of the polio era or they were born with hemimelia or some other congenital issue. Probably dont hold up as well though.

My wheelchair is 24v, is that odd? all the ones you suggest/recommend are 12v, can you recommend any 24v's?

I find that when folded the handles still stick out a long way and make it awkward to fir in the car. To overcome this I remove the handles and temporarily fit them backwards. This way they stick out no further than the backrest.

I have no choice other than to sleep in a chair. I am 76 years old. I suffer from heart disease, four heart attacks, and eight stents fitted. I also suffer from spinal stenosis in my lumbar spine and cervical spine, I have had four shoulder operations, the last one was a total left shoulder joint replacement and I still need a right shoulder joint replacement. I am a long term type one diabetic and I suffer with diabetic legs. I have tried to get social services to help me but all they can offer is raised toilet seats and small scale equipment. I have not been able to use a bath or shower for many years as I fall easally. I can not climb stairs due to my spinal problems. So I am forced to have my wife wash me down before I get dressed. MY reclining chair is far from being comfortable but it is all I have got.

I have an AFO leg brace where the shoe is attached to braces. It is really comfortable and lets me do everything.

I’ve had more than one foot brace but the only one I remember was a Barbie one, I only remember it cuz I saw it in a closet at my old house,it’s pretty obvious that it’s from It was either from 2010 or a little earlier like 2008, my parents said I stopped wearing it completely in either kindergarten or preschool and when I did wear it, I only had to wear it at school, it wasn’t because the problem was fixed,it was because I hated wearing it so my teachers would always have to put my foot brace back on, and my mom said that the Barbie brace wasn’t my only brace and that I also had one that went up to my knees if not higher than that, my mom said I hated that one the most, the Barbie one I can tell went to my ankle and since it was really tiny I’m guessing I was in preschool and I know the Barbie one I still hated, my mom said I needed it cuz both of my feet wasn’t exactly straight which when you really look at my foot you can tell, what I didn’t know is that another reason I needed it was for my hip cuz it made me walk funny or something so it was also used to help me stand up straight which I’m guessing is what the brace that went to or above my knees cuz I doubt the ankle brace would help with that and I can tell the Barbie one was used to help me walk straight and straighten out both my feet cuz both feet had the same issue,that part obviously did get fixed but my foot problem is still there but you can’t tell unless you look really hard cuz I think it was just partly fixed but not all the way cuz I hated it, I’m not suprised when my parents told me my teachers had to put it back on and that as soon as I got home I took it off, I kinda expected that cuz I’ve always had sensory issues cuz I have adhd, they just didn’t know until I was 9, my parents said the reason why they didn’t think anything was wrong was cuz the only reason my twin brother got diagnosed with autism at 3 and I didn’t get checked for anything cuz he was nonverbal and cuz a doctor told my mom about autism and it was 2008 so back then it was ADD which I’m almost the stereotype of adhd kinda cuz I’m talkative and my parents would call me a lawnmower cuz I’m just talk talk talk, they still call me a lawnmower,not directly but they said they still would stay I’m still a lawnmower

Ive had them all and the only one that works is the push.. Ive had 5 made and they still sucked. Im pretty active and they break after 1 year or so but other than that Its Great fits in all shoes and not bulky at all. Good luck
