Lucan must’ve seen Mark before he fled with Andressa and just followed him. Anissa admitted that they studied the Earth, so they’ve probably been monitoring Mark ever since Nolan left the planet.

It's a fun way to explore Morty! Even if it's not flawless, it has heart and sincerity which is something R&M has been missing for so long imo. You're free to disagree though :-)

I think if Rick jumped into a world with Diane, he would never come out, which would mean abandoning Morty like he abandoned Beth. Instead, Rick chose Morty, he chose Morty over Diane, so the answer "Is Morty irreplaceable to Rick?" is a resounding Yes.

I do like how Rick willingly puts the photo of Morty on the board too. He doesn't do it in front of him or use the camera. He does it alone, so we know it's his choice and he's not faking it. Rick's remembering this was Morty's achievement and he shouldn't think about taking it away from him.

I interpreted it as Rick trusting Morty’s word and knowing that whatever solace he’ll get from seeing Diane again is not worth what the Hole will do to her in front of him. Another way you could interpret Rick’s reconsideration is through a quote by Dostoyevsky: “It is better to be unhappy and know the worst, than to be happy in a fool's paradise.” Rick’s gotten healthier this season. I think a past Rick would’ve gone in the Hole for an escape/the ride of a lifetime and probably killed himself by the end of it. This healthier Rick has learned to value what’s already in front of him.

I think he just put picture of Morty, just to make fun of him once again. His face was like: "Aah, whatever, I will put this awkward photo of my grandson, just so everyone could know that he jumped right into the idiotic, mental fear adventure". If Rick really would care and understand Morty, he wouldn't do this.
